Now is not the time to quit. You are not a spoiler. Newt can win SC on his own. You can come in second or third. You have seen it for yourself in the crowds that have come to see you in SC. When Newt wins SC it will be a three man race. The voters are turning away from Santorum. You can come in second or third place then Florida will be the new battle ground. You are the only true TEA PARTY candidate. Erick is going against his own strategic advice. This is a marathon not a sprint. When Newt beats Romney in SC it is a whole new ballgame. Hang in there and keep up the great job in the debates. You will win this in the end. This is the absolute definition of faith. There is a certain motto I like to live by and it is this: “Faith and Patience”. If you have both you will endure till the end.
Governor Perry, you are the only one in the race with the record to take down Obama. As you are well aware the Lord puts us all through the fire to make the best of us rise to the top. This is why many of us are wholeheartedly behind you. You have been through the fire and you will rise to the top. As I say consistenly to my players, keep on plugging. You will win this. Please don’t give in or give up. The United States of America deserves better and the The USA deserves you as its next President. I and many others are with you till the end.
Faith and Patience.
God’s Speed Brother Perry!

Great post...
texastaxpayer (Diary) Wednesday, January 18th at 6:25PM EST (link)I hope he or his people see this. Erickson looks scared and weak asking Perry to concede and endorse a career corupticrat and lobbyist. Smells like desperation to me.

Coachfess, I agree all the way!
romansdaughter Wednesday, January 18th at 8:16PM EST (link)Gov. Perry has to stay in, as none of the other candidates cut it with me. I don’t think any of them are small government except Perry. Goodness, I think it is way too early for Erick to be trying to think he can make Perry bow out. He is going to regret that,,, throwing Perry under the bus, so to speak. Thanks for the great Post!

Praying with all my heart for Governor Perry.
cheetah2 (Diary) Wednesday, January 18th at 9:00PM EST (link)I trust him to do what’s best, and I sincerely hope and believe it will be to stay in the race and give us the opportunity to have a true conservative and a man of honor and integrity for our president.
I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order, just like Mike Pence.
@cheetah222
Thank you, coachfess
louisianapatriette (Diary) Wednesday, January 18th at 9:18PM EST (link)Like cheetah2 I’m spending a lot of time praying for Governor Perry. Sometimes I get so upset, frightened, angry–what have you, a whole swirl of emotions. It’s good to remember that the Lord loves Governor Perry–he is a child of the living God–and is working all things for his good.

gracie (Diary) Wednesday, January 18th at 9:40PM EST (link)EE retweeted your tweet re: Rick Perry not dropping out of the race.
You are hqaving a Big effect girl if EE picks yours out and sends it to all his followers!
You go girl!!
He's in my prayers
laura211 Wednesday, January 18th at 10:37PM EST (link)I pray every night for Governor Perry and for the people of SC. I pray that the voters of SC will see that Gov. Perry has the record and experience this country needs and that they will vote for him on Saturday.
I don’t believe the polls that keep saying Perry is in last place. If Fox news leaves off Perry’s name in their online poll asking who should win the GOP nomiantion, then other pollsters will too. I wouldn’t be suprised if the pollsters leave off Perry as an option when polled.
stay in the race
coachfess (Diary) Wednesday, January 18th at 9:23PM EST (link)Romney agreed with Perry several times during the debate. I think he is endorsing Perry too. Stay in Mr. Perry do not listen to the people who want to see you quit.

A good move on Romney's part.
Michael_Handley Thursday, January 19th at 12:39AM EST (link)Is it possible that Romney wants Perry to split the Conservative vote with Gingrich, leaving Romney as the only moderate in the race? It’s a good move on his part if he can help this happen. The Conservatives have to rally around one Conservative Candidate or it’s over…
Thank you for this
Rapunzel46 Wednesday, January 18th at 9:32PM EST (link)there is no way Governor Perry should drop out or even have been asked to drop out. I’m praying for you Governor!
My first choice? Gov. Perry...
TexasTami Thursday, January 19th at 12:34AM EST (link)I couldn’t agree more with this post. IF Gingrich wins South Carolina, Perry has a chance in Florida. IF Romney wins South Carolina, the momentum will be too great to overcome. THEREFORE, South Carolinians have to wake up to the bigger picture: Romney is only a conservative when being a conservative means winning a Republican primary. His record is not conservative; RomneyCare provides funding for abortions. So people of South Carolina, vote your consciences and vote for Perry (or, at this stage, Gingrich; both propel Gov. Perry forward). Let’s keep the dialogue going, but God help us all, don’t vote for a moderate (Romney) to win in South Carolina. That would be a travesty!

Agree Coachfess
onenationundrgod Thursday, January 19th at 4:15AM EST (link)This is truly Gov Perry and Anita’s decision……
I pray the lord will bless them and keep them and make his face to shine upon them.
All I have to say is...
jmag (Diary) Thursday, January 19th at 10:23PM EST (link)If your first choice is on the ballot, you vote for him. Yes, SC, I’m talking to you. You’ve seen the final four in the debate tonight, and if that’s really what you want, then vote your conscience. If not, then don’t vote for #2… _always_ vote your first choice, and let the chips fall where they may. There are more than enough delegates left in the other 47 states that haven’t voted yet to secure the nomination for Santorum or Gingrich, especially once one of them drops out.
Now if we were down to the last few states and it was close, I’d suggest a different strategy. But it isn’t yet. SC will not provide enough delegates to determine the nominee, so don’t be cowed into voting for the other guy.
Vote your conscience, let your voice be heard. Don’t go wobbly and hide behind “but he said to vote for Newt!” Be your own man! (Or woman!). It’s entirely possible that Newt & Santorum will both stumble over the next few weeks (or tonight, depending on the reaction to the debates. Every vote Perry gets in SC makes him a stronger candidate if he has to get back in because everyone else flamed out.
I am afraid the odds are very much against that.
snowshooze (Diary) Friday, January 20th at 9:58PM EST (link)I will be paying attention too, and with great interest. the SC primary.
Perry will still be on the ballot, and absentee voting was well underway.
Newt, to his credit, handled the attempted election rigging by ABC and CNN. Thanks to Drudge for dragging them out, kicking and screaming.
As a Perry supporter, the fun just blew out of this election with his suspension.
He came in third.
Yeah, I discount Paul and Santorum.
And I think the suspension was grave error.
I believe it is done, Perry is going back to Texas.
I’m going to support Newt. Actually, I am warming to a brokered convention… but Newt being my choice until he blows out. I don’t think he will, he is a grown up now… but he still has that ability.
Yes, he can shred Obama. Not even a worry on that.
No, it won’t be a clean job. Santorum got a heck of a punch in on check kiting… but nobody gave it much attention.
Obama will do some work on that too.
But I agree… Perry was our best guy.
He just isn’t into sales.
I'm not expecting him to get back in....
jmag (Diary) Saturday, January 21st at 2:19AM EST (link)… though there are a few unlikely scenarios where that could happen (at this time in 2008, Obama was even less likely). I’m not sure who I’m for in the primaries at this point, when all their flaws are taken into consideration… it’s really hard to favor one over the other.
