a group of conservatives would want to meet with Mr. Obama. Surely, it can not be to gain favor. (If you can call Crystal or Brooks conservative….)

Maybe… just maybe… it goes back to the old saying….
“Keep your friends close… and your enemies closer.” I sure hope that is part of the reason.

Without fully understanding the “why”… I do believe I know the outcome of the meeting. I believe Mr. Obama to be a man that will take a leak down your back… and eloquently convince you that it is raining.

That whole bipartisanship thing is a real winner.

How about we discover some principles and stick to them? How about we make the left work with US instead of being so eager to suck up to them? When are we going to realize that they have not only become political enemies but enemies of all that American stands for?

I hope Obama gets no legislation passed so AMERICA WILL SUCCEED.

Here are two reasons why you are dead wrong. First, the left has been cheerleading this recession ever since the 2004 election. They have finally gotten their wish, and decent people will suffer tremendously because of their political ambition. Second, they have undercut the Commander In Chief, leaked classified information and generally been on the side of the terrorists for political purposes since shortly after they voted FOR the war.

Tell me when the right has ever even considered something like that. Tell me when Neil, or myself, or anyone on this website has ever even come close to suggesting something like that.

You can defer to Obama all you want and hop on the rainbow bandwagon, but I will be damned if I will.

I don’t think that I am part of a problem. I think conservatives should retain the right to have a sense of humor. I think we should also retain the right to disagree with a socialist. I can accept that he will be my president. I can hope that somehow he keeps us safe and prosperous, but I don’t see the need to throw my beliefs out the window to compromise and say that I hope he’s successful. The truth is that I don’t. I do not wish for our government to embrace socialism and that is what Obama offers.

My blog was intended to be taken in good fun. I do, however, think that too many conservatives are making their number 1 priority looking like they are friends with Obama or showing how nice they can be by being part of his photo op. I think we ought to be working hard toward advancing a conservative counter-agenda, not trying to get favor from Obama.

I’m going to do my all to sap away the prodigious amount of good will that he has right now.

I want him to have to struggle to achieve any far left agenda items he has. That means attacking his credibility any time he lies. That means highlighting any crookedness or dishonestly in anyone tied to the administration. That means giving him no cooperation in setting up his administration to fight for those agenda items.

FOCA, EFCA, and bills like that would be bad news for the country. We have to start NOW to oppose them.

for conservatism. Well, there is free trade and welfare reform, Both passed under Clinton. As for the rest of it we have been in almost constant retreat since the end of the Reagan administration.

Do I think we will move into a much more state-ist direction? Yes.
But that is due to the failures of those who led our party.

Nothing can be done about that now.
