If anybody can tell me where Obama has an opportunity to reverse his current slide, let me know what I’m missing.

Well, the unemployment rate could drop to 4.6 by September. Porcine aviators could make a landing on the Potomac. Space aliens could arrive with gifts for all from our admirers on Cygnus-V.

With those words Sarah Palin has begun her quest for the Presidency, whether the press wants to admit it or not.

1. He's a Democrat
2. He's a leftist [although somewhat hidden for a while]
1/2. He's not Bush [only half a reason since McCain isn't Bush either]
3. He transcends race and brings/will bring racial healing to America.

That last reason doesn't look so good anymore now that Obama has called Cambridge police stupid based on his own racial attitude.

...popularity is unsustainable when each and every policy you espouse and attempt to implement is opposed by a significant majority of the people. And that is where Obama finds himself.

His domestic agenda is poisonous; he brings to the table all the terrible left-wing ideas which have gotten previous Democrat nominees badly beaten in presidential elections of the past, and what's worse he's attempted to pass them down the throats of the American peopel without even allowing for public scrutiny of the legislation which brought them on.

His foreign policy is the worst of any American president in the modern age. He telegraphs weakness to our enemies, he insults our friends and he abandons well-established national interests like the promotion of the rule of law (see the mess in Honduras and our disgraceful role in it, for example, or our tepid endorsement of the pro-freedom rebellion in Iran - the best opportunity for regime change in 30 years in our most dangerous enemy in the world).

And now, with the colossal Cambridge PD gaffe, Obama has reopened the racial divide between himself and 60 percent of the population. That divide has aways been there, but it's been papered over by the DNC Propaganda machine since the Rev. Wright stuff came out. Conventional wisdom 16 months ago was that the Wright business would likely sink Obama, and he survived it thanks to the incompetence of his challengers - but the more mistakes like this Obama makes the more average Americans will see a pattern. And patterns, once perceived, are extremely difficult to overcome.

If anybody can tell me where Obama has an opportunity to reverse his current slide, let me know what I'm missing. I see a failed presidency in the making which will make Jimmy Carter look like Andrew Jackson.

Police Sergeant Crowley would have gotten an apology from Obama by now had be been the leader of Iran, Venezuela, North Korea or al-Qeda instead of an American law enforcement officer.

nut to crack. I have people who married into the family who were raised on the "the gov. will do it for me" mentality. It's so ingrained in them that they plan their lives around how to still get the gov. benefits while getting a job or raising their children. They know that if they don't make too much money they'll still qualify for food stamps or TennCare, so they purposefully stay below the cutoff point for either program.

Sad to say, but they also choose friends who are of the same behavior. And then they claim that "well, everybody does this!" as a defense. It's my hardhearted purpose in life to see how much of that kind of thinking I can change before it ruins the next generation.

That pretty much goes for much if not most of the human race, unless you live in the topsy-turvy bizarro world of liberalism. Truthfully, Obama's actions are no surprise to me considering that the man has been marinated in left-wing politics his entire life.

To liberals, America has no enemies. Only countries we've yet to apologize to.

Obama is driving the biggest bus in the world and never even got a learner's permit. The damage he is inflicting is enormus. We need to stop the bus and take away the keys. Obama can sit in the drivers seat but he can't go anywhere and cause anymore damage.

That is good but we need to re-direct them to understand that voting for democrats will only make things worse. Sitting on your butt waiting for a welfare check does not help anyone, especially the one cashing the welfare check. People need to stand up and become productive men & women and not just mere sheeple waiting for the slaughter.

Has there been any foreign leader yet who hasn't told Obama to go pound sand when he came looking for help? He has no respect outside the US and no leverage. He's viewed as incredibly soft - all bark and no bite.

and very, very believable. One thing I know is apologizing involves loss of face. Obama is causing the U.S. severe loss of face in countries and cultures where it matters. He is an extreme embarassment to thinking Americans and as your relative says, looks weak, naive and unfit for office (any office IMHO).

Personally, I disgree with "intelligent man with a sharp mind" - his utter lack of coherent thoughts, speech, and principles wedded to inarticulate and fumbling off-TOTUS speaking belies any nimble mind, quickwittedness or intellectual coherence. About the only thing revealed, when he is off-script and off-TOTUS, is his id in control and regurgitating his true Marxist and viciously anti-American philosophy. Those snakes are the only "coherent" things in his head.

Even the gullible and foolish are starting to notice.

I thought I'd share this with you all: I spent yesterday entertaining half a dozen relatives from Taiwan and Japan. One of my cousins happens to be a journalist in Taiwan (I'll refrain from giving his name to protect him from potential repercussions) and he asked me what I thought about our new President. I asked him if it was off the record or was this going to be used in a future article. He assured me that it was just to satisfy his own curiosity. Even then, I didn't fully trust him and spoke with my guard up. I told him that even though I respected Obama's intellectual agility, I didn't vote for Obama and that I didn't agree with the majority of his views. I also told him (though I was thinking otherwise) that it was too early in the game to see how he performs overall.

His reply was not what I expected. He said that most Asians that he's spoken to overseas perceive Obama to be weak and naive. In many Asian cultures, apologizing is a sign of weakness. Excessive apologizing is a confirmation of incompetence as a leader. They've never seen a leader (Free-world or dictator) apologize for his own country so often during their tenure, let alone such a short one. I was shocked but I concurred.

I told him that most of our national press coverage reports that Obama is liked abroad so his remarks were surprising to me. His answer to that was even more profound. He said "Just because people like you doesn't mean they respect or fear you. There are millions in South Korea and Japan who are very worried about his handling of Kim Jong Il's antics. There are also millions of Taiwanese who are none too thrilled about the your President's cowtowing and compromising with China to buy American debt. If China ever decides to annex Taiwan, America will be economically powerless and diplomatically powerless to stop them. These concerns are real in that region of the world and Obama is either too ignorant or stubborn to acknowledge them."

I asked what he thought of Obama. He replied, "He's an intelligent man with a sharp mind but I think he'll prove to be an awful President. I think Americans voted with their hearts instead of their heads and they will pay a heavy price for that soon. Polls indicate that most Americans like Obama personally but don't like his job performance. That's not a very practical approach to policy. No offense but I think many Americans have confused charisma with true leadership skills. And if Asians are anything, they are pragmatic. To put it another way, I love my 17-yr.-old daughter with all my heart, but I know better than to give her the keys to a city bus (at least until I she proved capable). Believe me when I tell you that my opinion of Obama is not the rare exception."

So there you have it RedState. You are not as alone overseas as you thought you were.

These concerns are real in that region of the world and Obama is either too ignorant or stubborn to acknowledge them.”

I asked what he thought of Obama. He replied, “He’s an intelligent man with a sharp mind but I think he’ll prove to be an awful President. I think Americans voted with their hearts instead of their heads and they will pay a heavy price for that soon. Polls indicate that most Americans like Obama personally but don’t like his job performance. That’s not a very practical approach to policy. No offense but I think many Americans have confused charisma with true leadership skills. And if Asians are anything, they are pragmatic. To put it another way, I love my 17-yr.-old daughter with all my heart, but I know better than to give her the keys to a city bus (at least until I she proved capable). Believe me when I tell you that my opinion of Obama is not the rare exception.”

So there you have it RedState. You are not as alone overseas as you thought you were.

is now more unpopular than ever. After campaigning as a centrist moderate, he tricked 70 million gullible idiots into voting for him, and now that he's in office we're stuck with his gassy socialism for the next 4 years. Thank God at least some of the morons who voted for him are waking up to how his policies Hurt America. I have no doubt whatsoever that the repubs (Romney, I hope) will be back in the White House shortly after winning a Reagan-like landslide.

themselves from the rabid dogs on the far left in two ways. The first is that the MSM won't report the worst things that the far left says and does. And if they DO report on it, they make it look mainstream and justified, as in the full page ad that Moveon.org did before Gen. Petraeus' testimony to Congress in 2007. The other thing the Dems do is the same thing the Blue Dogs do, which is mouth the moderate-conservative notions while voting the liberal way anyway.

Nothing like lies of both commission and omission to get the job done.
