I've been walking around. I decided to do some chores which allows time to go by for things to sink in. I wondered if this post was possibly a joke. That is, suggesting one of Obama's speeches meant anything new, then advising readers to give 30 minutes for this hideous fraud Obama. I have an abundant supply of his actions that tell me all I need to know. His speeches are the last place I'd look at this late date for anything meaningful.

was not targeted at the Muslim world.

The speech was carefully crafted for US consumption, and it was designed to provide cover and a couple of "moderate" soundbites for countering the criticism that was sure to materialize from a close analysis of the last thirty minutes, when he actually spoke to the Muslim world .

which is why you're gone.

You might possibly be stupid enough to believe that a rather famous Far Side cartoon means arabs are as stupid as dogs but you're probably among that select <65 IQ demographic.

Here in detail.

You know that you're saying that Arabs are as stupid as dogs here right? And your other respondent is similarly comparing liberals. If you're going to say something so asinine you should really at least gesture towards trying to support your point.

In my post I review some of the reactions in the Muslim world.

The entire tone was very narcissistic, he seems to refer to himelf in the present, the USA/West, Israel, and the Muslim world in the third terminology. He doesn't want to be the POTUS, just Pres of the World. He may be the most self-aggrandizing person I have ever seen or heard. He tends to always refer to what he knows and believes as if he is unattached to America, not the values or the greatness of America.

His attitude and self importance can only come from someone who doesn't feel that America is "the shining city on the hill".

It hurts my ears and makes me want to howl in protest. Unlike sirens, I can turn this stuff off as soon as it starts. And can I ask when it became appropriate for a POTUS to be the champion and defender of a RELIGION?

Before I even knew who he was, the very first time I heard him giving a speech, I couldn't take his manner of speaking. I just read them instead, which is probably why I've never come away impressed by any of it. Just a bunch of intellectual rubbish really. It's rather nauseating that he ends ever sentence in an up pitch, like some deep-voiced valley girl.

With Clinton it was when he gave a speech after signing welfare reform and still surrounded the decision with the PC bs. With Dubya it was around 2005-6. Obama, it was during the campaign really, but I liked the Inaugural address. Then after he started playing dictator and smugness abounded, eck

I read transcripts.

It took me much longer to reach that state with Clinton. If he comes on the TV or radio, I switch; can't watch, can't listen. His arrogant, condescending affect is just beyond my endurance. That kind of arrogance from a fraud with no resume and whose greatest achievement before his election was checking the right box on the affirmative action form is simply unbearable!

"The fifth issue that we must address together is religious freedom. Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance. We see it in the history of Andalusia and Cordoba during the Inquisition. I saw it firsthand as a child in Indonesia, where devout Christians worshiped freely in an overwhelmingly Muslim country. That is the spirit we need today. People in every country should be free to choose and live their faith based upon the persuasion of the mind, heart, and soul. This tolerance is essential for religion to thrive, but it is being challenged in many different ways."

The fourth issue that I will address is democracy.

I know there has been controversy about the promotion of democracy in recent years, and much of this controversy is connected to the war in Iraq. So let me be clear: no system of government can or should be imposed upon one nation by any other.

That does not lessen my commitment, however, to governments that reflect the will of the people. Each nation gives life to this principle in its own way, grounded in the traditions of its own people. America does not presume to know what is best for everyone, just as we would not presume to pick the outcome of a peaceful election. But I do have an unyielding belief that all people yearn for certain things: the ability to speak your mind and have a say in how you are governed; confidence in the rule of law and the equal administration of justice; government that is transparent and doesn't steal from the people; the freedom to live as you choose. Those are not just American ideas, they are human rights, and that is why we will support them everywhere.

There is no straight line to realize this promise. But this much is clear: governments that protect these rights are ultimately more stable, successful and secure. Suppressing ideas never succeeds in making them go away. America respects the right of all peaceful and law-abiding voices to be heard around the world, even if we disagree with them. And we will welcome all elected, peaceful governments – provided they govern with respect for all their people.

This last point is important because there are some who advocate for democracy only when they are out of power; once in power, they are ruthless in suppressing the rights of others. No matter where it takes hold, government of the people and by the people sets a single standard for all who hold power: you must maintain your power through consent, not coercion; you must respect the rights of minorities, and participate with a spirit of tolerance and compromise; you must place the interests of your people and the legitimate workings of the political process above your party. Without these ingredients, elections alone do not make true democracy.

Would also like to point out that it took alot longer to read than 30 mins, had to stop in dis-belief at least half a dozen times and to laugh at some pionts. Will need to re read it later but my first over all impression was,

'I BHO want to be the first President of the United States of the World'

Even knowing what his biases may be, he certainly offers some interesting insight regarding Islamic history and certain usage of terms by Obama.

And that is all the Arab world heard from BHO this morning.

"Iraq was a war of choice." - BHO 5/4/09

And the Arab world is grateful that we the courage and fortitude to rid the world of Saddam Hussein and his murderous regime. So, please, don't try to opologize for something that all Arabs will admit to (mostly off the record behind closed doors).

"...and a greeting of peace from Muslim communities in my country..." - BHO 5/4/08

Thats *it*!!! I've had it with this guy. We haven't been a war with Islam (I think President Bush had made that point several thousand times), we aren't a Muslim nation, and while you're sending a greeting from an extreme minority of the American populace (Muslims) why not send a shout out to the Arabs from the gay community, the American Socialist Party, and NAMBLA?

"We can't impose our values." BHO 5/3/09

Then he goes on to lecture the Egyptian audience on tolerance, respect for Israel, Sunni-Shia relations, etc. Why not throw in empathy for good measure? The Arabs are in need of alot of empathy. What a supreme idiot!

The man-boy President hasn't learned from 60 years of US relations with the Middle East.

I have great respect for Muslims. I've risked my life securing Iraqi's freedom and soveriegnty. I worked hand-in-hand with thousands of great Muslims in Iraq and Africa. But even *I* know that extending an olive branch to the Arab world is often met with a proverbial middle finger, and will ultimately leave Israel to fend for herself.

And the Arab world is grateful that we the courage and fortitude to rid the world of Saddam Hussein and his murderous regime. So, please, don’t try to opologize for something that all Arabs will admit to (mostly off the record behind closed doors).

“…and a greeting of peace from Muslim communities in my country…” – BHO 5/4/08

Thats *it*!!! I’ve had it with this guy. We haven’t been a war with Islam (I think President Bush had made that point several thousand times), we aren’t a Muslim nation, and while you’re sending a greeting from an extreme minority of the American populace (Muslims) why not send a shout out to the Arabs from the gay community, the American Socialist Party, and NAMBLA?

“We can’t impose our values.” BHO 5/3/09

Then he goes on to lecture the Egyptian audience on tolerance, respect for Israel, Sunni-Shia relations, etc. Why not throw in empathy for good measure? The Arabs are in need of alot of empathy. What a supreme idiot!

The man-boy President hasn’t learned from 60 years of US relations with the Middle East.

I have great respect for Muslims. I’ve risked my life securing Iraqi’s freedom and soveriegnty. I worked hand-in-hand with thousands of great Muslims in Iraq and Africa. But even *I* know that extending an olive branch to the Arab world is often met with a proverbial middle finger, and will ultimately leave Israel to fend for herself.

Words mean nothing to him, no matter how well vetted, focus group tested or eloquently delivered.
Results are what matters, and the results thus far are a grotesque growth of government take over of the American Dream, creating a generational nightmare.
No pretty words, no bumper sticker phrase is going to change the reality of the economic, cultural and societal devastation he envisions.
