Maybe it's because I'm retired, but the idea of government run health care scares me more than the thought of another terror attack. Yes, a terror attack would be horrible, but you clean up, you mourn and you move on. With government controlled health care the terror would be on-going in my life until the day I day. (it may even hasten that day if Dashel gets his way)

...by using free market policies. I honestly believe that most people don't have enough information to make an informed decision. If the question is "should the government ensure all Americans have health insurance" without explaining that what Obama has in mind is a complete takeover of he system why would anyone say "no"?

I think if people were fully informed there would be overwhelming opposition. That's why I personally don't put much stock inn polls.

President Obama's approval numbers are beginning to mirror the DOW. Which, by the way, appears to be closing at a twelve-year low. Obama's approval numbers have fallen right along with the markets and is currently at 58%.

If my observation holds water, President Obama's approval numbers should drop to around 55-56% by the end of the week.

Another observation: It's taken less than six weeks for his presidency to fail.

...is that the Democrats are pretty much relying on two factors to claim a mandate: a lopsided identification of voters as Democrats, and strong internal agreement among Democrats that the party's policy is correct. I can see maintaining either one; continuing to have both is going to be a real strain.
