Obama’s bailout boondoggle another step closer

Now that President Obama, the House and Senate Democrat leadership, and three Republicans have agreed upon the parameters of Obama’s now $789 billion bailout, unelected Democrat staffers, in
total secrecy
, will write the biggest spending bill in the country’s history in
total secrecy.

Today or tomorrow, Congress will vote blind, without having anything like a reasonable amount of time to read, let alone sufficient time to study, what will be 700-odd pages of legislation:

“It is a fiscally responsible number that reflects our efforts to truly focus this bill on programs and policies and tax relief that will help turn our economy around, create jobs and provide relief to the families of our country.” — Main Republican Senator Susan Collins

I could not disagree more.

A $789 billion spending bill, all of which will have to be borrowed and later repaid by our progeny, cannot possibly be “fiscally responsible.”

As for the Democrats’ Senate leader, Harry Reid’s statement that the bailout boondoggle will create 3.5 million jobs, we will spend more than a quarter of a million dollars for each job. What a waste.

We have previously discussed how Obama’s constantly changing goal of job creation was never enough.

Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter are whores.

With apologies to sex workers.

And there will be no price for them to pay for this. Mitch McConnell is a gutless, spineless piece of dung.

As I said repeatedly last week, “60 votes” doesn’t mean a thing. There is no limit to the number of Republican Senators who will support Obama’s programs and people. Just watch the vote on Solis for further proof.

They are worse than whores

At least whores get something for their work besides some camera time and a pat on the ass.

You hit the nail on the head – there will be no price for them to pay for this. Why in the hell should we expect them to do anything different?

Let me put things this way: If this bill is good, if this bill works, then everything I have learned, everything I have seen and everything I believe is dead wrong.

recall petitions

I’m not sure what the rules are, they seem to be different for every state. It seems though that we need a stronger message to our elected officials so far phone calls that have lit up the switchboards and e-mail accounts hasn’t done a whole lot. Maybe the threat of being called home would do it. Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on how to get this kind of thing rolling?

Utter waste of time.

The girls could never be recalled in ME. They can’t be successfully primaried either. We’re stuck with them and if McConnell won’t apply discipline to them we’re stuck with them being reliable votes for Obama. See my comments about why the Dems don’t NEED 60 Senators.

With respect to Specter (and I apologize for using the words “Specter” and “respect” in the same sentence), first of all we should thank Rick Santorum and GWB for pulling out all the stops helping him beat Pat Toomey last time out. Second, he probably can be primaried, but I don’t know PA well enough anymore to have any feeling for whether he can be beaten. Obviously Santorum won’t be the “white knight” and I doubt Toomey would either. Is there anybody else in PA who could give Arlen a run?

At the end of the day, we come back to the fact that it’s on Mitch McConnell and the Republican “leadership” in the Senate to do something to make these kind of votes unacceptable to “R” Senators. And that won’t be happening any time soon.

Our brothers and sisters in California can help perhaps?

They recalled there governor, which is how Ahhhhrnold was elected. Here in Illinois, our former Senate Dem. leader in all of his wisdom refused to let the bill come to the floor for a vote.

What exactly does Maine get?

NC_Red_State (Diary) Thursday, February 12th at 10:02AM EST (link)

What part of 800B will be going to Maine in order to have these two turncoats cast their votes with those that should be their fiscal opposites?

Mitch McConnell needs to get the house in order and learn to reel in these two.

MBecker is spot on with the price that can not be repaid after this. I am disgusted.

The reports of the spending projects that are coming to light and will continue to come out, are going to (damn well better) cause the ousting of all who vote yes on this garbage.

McCain needs to make them famous…..he could at least do that.

There are few things in life that please me more than pissing off liberals.
