people are going to go see this coronation. I’m having a hard time believing that. But it’s not like you can tell people not to come watch. Personally, I can’t imagine being around that many people, (50 is a about my limit these days) and there’s only 5000 port-a-poties. Sounds like public health disaster to me.

Anyways, if they’re right, and 2 million people do show up, that is a mighty temping target for any bad guy, so I find it hard to fault the security guys for the “Ring of Steel” they’re building.

I’ve never even considered burning a flag before, but I could be convinced to change my mind in this particular instance.

To me, this Obamania has reached depressingly too far into any body remotely connected to media.

Come on, would the GSN be doing anything if McCain had been elected? I think not.

I hope no one is surprised at the hype and the adulation that PEBHO is getting. This is what I expected and then some.

A Prediction:

I fully expect that The One’s address on Tuesday will be called the greatest oratory in US history, rivaling the simple eloquence of the Gettysburg Address, the passion of JFK’s “Ask Not” speech, the guidance of FDR’s “Fear” speech and the wisdom of Reagan’s “Tear Down this Wall”.

In fact, I anticipate that either my third grade son or my sixth grade son will soon have to memorize the speech and recite it for credit.

That is the nature of the beast. That is the cult of personality that the US elected. That is why conservatives must fight, but now is not the time. As we watch the slobbering and the kowtowing and the genuflecting in the presence of The One, I say, do nothing.

Allow the lefties their victory and their celebration. Bear the aggravation and the rhetoric and the fawning with teeth grit and jaws tense. And then, when the bands have gone, the crowd has left and January 22nd has rolled around…

Fight.

Obama is going to take his 13 million email addresses and develop a grass roots campaign that works on local and state governments to pass his ideology. Conservative republicans need a way to Organize for Democracy to combat this effort….face it, they are growing tendrils and an effort needs to be made to build a better organizing group.

Yes bs, it is illegal.

Manufacturing The Flag like that, or simply displaying it is a violation of US Code………. But apparently only within Washington DC. I’m not sure if there’s been an addition to Code in order to make that national.

I say we wait until Tuesday and then call up the Secret Service** and demand they order the 25,000 law enforcement officers on site to hand out DAT’s to each person who has a flag like that (or others similar) in their hands.

** The US Secret service is the lead law enforcement agency for the anointment and of course, the actual jurisdiction falls within the DC Police Department’s area of operations except for the Capitol Police areas. But a big-time “and it’s deep too” contest is waging strong over who’s in charge of what.

By the way, did you know that there will be approximately 7,500 regular Army troops in place as part of the law enforcement contingent ? I’m thinking they can be there legally in operation, simply because DC isn’t a state.

Any person who, within the District of Columbia, in any manner, for exhibition or display, shall place or cause to be placed any word, figure, mark, picture, design, drawing, or any advertisement of any nature upon any flag, standard, colors, or ensign of the United States of America; or shall expose or cause to be exposed to public view any such flag, standard, colors, or ensign upon which shall have been printed, painted, or otherwise placed, or to which shall be attached, appended, affixed, or annexed any word, figure, mark, picture, design, or drawing, or any advertisement of any nature; or who, within the District of Columbia, shall manufacture, sell, expose for sale, or to public view, or give away or have in possession for sale, or to be given away or for use for any purpose, any article or substance being an article of merchandise, or a receptacle for merchandise or article or thing for carrying or transporting merchandise, upon which shall have been printed, painted, attached, or otherwise placed a representation of any such flag, standard, colors, or ensign, to advertise, call attention to, decorate, mark, or distinguish the article or substance on which so placed shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100 or by imprisonment for not more than thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the court.

There is a slightly different standard for the democrats than there was for the republicans! We can’t spend $40 million, but it’s OK for them to spend $160 million. One of our political appointees can’t shelter an illegal immigrant, but theirs can employee an “undocumented worker”, and “forget” to pay his taxes too. It’s all so confusing – so many different sets of rules out there!

This morning I posted that the Dems no longer have to hide who they really are —- ruling the White House & Congress, Media, Hollywood/Entertainment, Europe — they all are backing each other and the out-of- power Rep. are too weak to issue a whimper.
The Dems do not worry about the cost. They need to control our lives.” Give them Cake” or in this case give them “their” celebration and the common folks will flock to adore the new ruler and line up for the next election.
That is what the Dems care about — ruling & the next election. The cost only mattered when it was Geroge Bush — name any subject & they use it against the Rep./Conserv.
The party of the “common folk” has copious billionaires to underwrite their wishes. Stalin had everything , while his people starved, waited for apartments and could not travel.
