So the Coakley vs. Brown MA SEN race is for Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat, right? Apparently Chris Van Hollen forgot this fact when he stated:
Why would you hand the keys to the car back to the same guys whose policies drove the economy into the ditch and then walked away from the scene of the accident?
…into a ditch and then walked away“? A DITCH? Really? REALLY?
I’ve been accused of speaking without thinking before, but Van Hollen goes into the HOF for this one.
Ted Kennedy. ”Into a ditch and walked away”.
Wow.

OBAMA: I’d think hard and long about getting in that truck with Martha’s opponent. It might not take you where you want to go.

And that comment about driving the car in to the ditch seems to fit Coakley better than Brown. Shes the one that wants to continue and double down on the failed policies of THIS administration.
"Do It For Teddy!" Campaign Theme
bigalsouth (Diary) Monday, January 18th at 11:17PM EST (link)In a related story, tonight, Martha Coakley tried to fire up her depressed campaign workers kicking off her “Do It For Teddy” theme by vowing to get drunk, grab a 22 year old volunteer, and drive him off into a canal and let him drown.

ColoradoRed Monday, January 18th at 9:15PM EST (link)…Red State ought to do a year-end awards “show” (OK, or just a post), especially after campaign season, where we give out prizes to different politicians for various accomplishments. On the good side, or the bad. Obviously this Mass. race will go down as possibly the most unlikely and unforeseen turn of events in the history of American politics if Brown pulls the upset, so it could sweep every single one (though, admittedly, neither candidate would be eligible for “Conservative Politician of the Year” or anything like that). It would easily take “Election of the Year”, though.
Just a thought.
We all ought to thank Chris Van Hollen with a fitting gift. Or perhaps just send this one to his wife.
Then again, I guess it was better to have Ted's seat
GregInFla (Diary) Monday, January 18th at 9:16PM EST (link)than Mary Jo Kopechne’s seat that murderous night in Mass.

Let the Dirty Tricks Commence – Phony calls attacking Scott Brown are not from Pro Life Massachusetts Group but from DC

Disgusting… Phony Pro-Lifers Are Making Anti-Scott Brown Calls in Massachusetts
This is a horrid new low for the left. They not only promote the murder of unborn children but lie about who they are and lie about the pro-life candidate Scott Brown.
Pro-lifers are receiving phone calls from a phony group pretending to Mass Citizens for Life.
The Mass Citizens for Life Blog reported:
The most disgraceful thing is happening!
Pro-lifers are receiving phone calls from people claiming to be Mass Citizens. The callers say that Mass Citizens is not supporting Scott Brown because of his position on health care!
The truth is that Mass Citizens is suporting Brown because of his position on health care!
These deceitful calls are coming from 202-461-3441, a Washington, DC number. The phone company says this is a company called SOOH.
Pro-lifers are not the only victims of this scam. Our MCFL sleuths have found that this same number is calling people across the state claiming to be different groups with different messages – all anti-Brown!
Please, please send this email to your entire list and ask those people to do the same! This deceit must go viral!
We cannot let this election be stolen!
Keep up your great work!
Anne Fox
P S If you get the call on your answering machine, please save it. These people should be made accountable for using our name!

For those without the living-history...
pburton Monday, January 25th at 3:17PM EST (link)It took a while for the comments to address why Van Hollen’s statement was “unthinking.”
Ted Kennedy drove his car off a bridge; walked away from the accident. A young girl was trapped inside the Kennedy car. She drowned.
Kennedy was afforded the consideration given power and privilege.
For those without the living-history, Ann Coulter can bring you up-to-speed. This topic she does well and often.
