for me was the administration's view of citizens with Alzheimer's/Dementia. I voted against Obama (not "for" McCain) because he (Obama) was an un-apologetic Marxist. I was willing to give him some latitude when he was first elected. By his inauguration, I had removed any latitude. His inauguration speech alone served notice that the "radical-lefty" was here to rule.

I will continue to educate my liberal friends and family to the Obamacare version of Uncle Adolf's "utopia" (people with aforementioned dieases becoming "non-persons" after the condition reaches a certain level, and being denied care).

My uncle and aunt, die-hard lefties, did not realize the consequences to their neice (my wife). They are learning, slowly but surely, that their beloved "Messiah" looks nothing like the 1st-century Nazarene. Rather, his policies, and the views of his advisors, are much more reminiscent of the 20th-century Fuhrer. "Angry" doesn't begin to touch the feelings I experience when I read the world-views of such people as Ezekial Emanuel, John Holdren, and Peter Singer.

While I have never been a Republican; I have always been a Conservative. Sites such as RedState have served to inform, entertain, and enlighten me. It's personal... and it's ideological...and it's time to become much more politically active.

Great diary, and terrific points!

Mad that no one here will even begin to look at the truth about the real lies about health care:

htp://factcheck.org/2009/08/twenty-six-lies-about-hr-3200/

facts are facts, and there is no debate without them, correct? If these aren't facts then tell me the real truth please.

One other thing: There's something that needs to be cleared up about this statement that keeps being thrown around by Karl Marx:

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

This has no real bearing on the health care debate unfortunately. This is from the "Critique of the Gotha Program" written in 1875, and the real originator of the phrase is Louis Blanc, not Marx.

It is a flawed concept but it has no bearing on health care whatsoever. This is because when it was written there basically was no real health care as we know it today. Also, it was about people contributing different amounts to society but in return receiving the same rations. But the rations were food, shoes, clothing, and all of the same kind.

This statement is about tangible goods and housing, not saving people's lives through medical practice, it predates any real notion of a modern health care system. In a health acre system there isn't supposed to be any rationing as it defeats the purpose of the system. Private insurers are doing it anyway. So, in effect, we all pay varying premiums but don't even get equal care. Interesting thing that is.

If you want to ignore that then that's fine, but maybe you shouldn't. maybe you should take all factual information into consideration before forming an opinion.

1) The process of producing these guidelines has been secretive, in terms of selecting the people drafting the guidelines and the lack of public input into the drafting process. Only now at the end of the process are they allowing comments, and the outcome at best will be tweaks (unless they're forced to withdraw them due to a huge public outcry - but so far they're mostly staying under the radar.

2) The federal government shouldn't be dictating these standards anyway - that should be at the state or local level (coupled with school choice, of course). And while these will be simply standards or advisory, the threat of federal funding withholding will make these an offer that can't be refused.

But math is likely to be the least controversial area. I suggest you look at the social studies in particular which is the most likely to be seriously flawed and representing indoctrination. English would be interesting to see if they dumb down grammar and what literature is to be studied. Science - look to see whether we're seeing indoctrination regarding environmentalism, global climate change (or whatever the current title is), and perhaps evolutionary biology. Then you may have a better idea as to whether there is a political agenda behind this curriculum or not.

Vision of the Anointed is one of the books I enjoyed while dealing with the attempted liberal indoctrination called college. More recently, The Bell Curve has provided me the most interesting insights into disparities and their causes.

"Condescending" is definitely his schtick. The nose in the air snootiness, as if he's some sort of royalty, makes me want to hurl. (And I'm not saying what...)

Nothing like backing up your words with research!!!!

I just skimmed through the math draft for review. Apart from the labeling error on the illustration for item 3 on page 21 (last time I looked 3cm is shorter than 4cm!) the standards are just fine for High School students. The biggest problem is that most High School math courses (in public schools, anyway) aren't taught by math majors! Trying to teach math when you don't like/understand math is difficult!

Setting the standards is an admirable thing, actually getting anyone to adhere to them is...well problematic. What are we going to do with those students who don't meet the standards, promote them like we do now? (Wouldn't want to hurt their self esteem you know!)

What are you going to do with the incompetent teachers? Fire them? RIIIIGGGGGHT! Like the teachers' unions would let you do that.

The only way to improve our educational system is to open it up to competition. Public schools...fine two systems per city/town/school district/whatever(!) and let the parents decide which school their kids attend. A school voucher system would be even better! When you control how the money is being spent you tend to take a more active role in how it is being utilized!

The nerve of this b*stard! I just can't believe that an avowed supporter of child murder (and thus child murderer himself) thinks he's got the right to indoctrinate our children against us? For me that's the final straw. I no longer want him to fail, I want worse. Yes, Biden is an idiot and an ass and in many ways is just as bad (though at least we can be sure he's not lying about being a Muslim!), but he won't have the kind of pull that the Obamination has with Congress or the American people. Instead of having 3 more years to ruin our country the worst we'd get is 3 years of gridlock (or 1 after we clean up in '10). I used to wonder how much was too much, what the tipping point was. Now I know.

But appropriate for the emissary you are for America. I liked your comment regarding the deception the liberals practice to get elected. It has been infuriating to see them pretend to be something they are not and not only get a foot in the door, but move into the house. The left figured out decades ago they had to disguise themselves. IMO, America then, as now, would never knowingly elect a Socialist/Communist.

BTW, loved the flag and stirring music.

Stay safe in your travels. Regards, penguin

You hit just about all the major points except a few others I didn't see addressed.

Here's a guy who drops charges on Domestic Black Panther terrorists caught on video intimidating whites at polling locations with a billy club. This is standing up for the rights of terrorists. You've heard more disparaging words from this administration concerning Tea Party folk than you've heard concerning Black Panther Terrorists.

He drops those charges - then turns around and drives full speed ahead on an effort to prosecute CIA agents for Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EIT's) ... techniques which have been proven to have saved hundreds, even thousands of lives. And ... let's be honest here - we waterboarded three dudes - the top three dudes of AQ - the organization that killed 3,000 of our countrymen on 9-11. And let's be honest in saying that these CIA agents are no more war criminals than their beloved Harry Truman was for dropping two nuclear bombs on civilian population in Japan was.

Standing up for the rights of Terrorists.

We've got ALCU stalking those CIA agents and giving information on them to their terrorist clients. Now - outing Valerie Plame - essentially a typist for the CIA in Virginia is a great crime - just ask Scooter Libby. But we can put these REAL agents in danger from being hit by AQ and it's not a big deal.

Standing up for the Rights of Terrorists.

I say we call the Democrats the "Terrorist's Right's Party". The new symbol should be a terrorist holding a donkey by a nose harness.

Never fear though - dude is outed - the American people finally know who Obama is. It's over for him.

You hit just about all the major points except a few others I didn’t see addressed.

Here’s a guy who drops charges on Domestic Black Panther terrorists caught on video intimidating whites at polling locations with a billy club. This is standing up for the rights of terrorists. You’ve heard more disparaging words from this administration concerning Tea Party folk than you’ve heard concerning Black Panther Terrorists.

He drops those charges – then turns around and drives full speed ahead on an effort to prosecute CIA agents for Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EIT’s) … techniques which have been proven to have saved hundreds, even thousands of lives. And … let’s be honest here – we waterboarded three dudes – the top three dudes of AQ – the organization that killed 3,000 of our countrymen on 9-11. And let’s be honest in saying that these CIA agents are no more war criminals than their beloved Harry Truman was for dropping two nuclear bombs on civilian population in Japan was.

Standing up for the rights of Terrorists.

We’ve got ALCU stalking those CIA agents and giving information on them to their terrorist clients. Now – outing Valerie Plame – essentially a typist for the CIA in Virginia is a great crime – just ask Scooter Libby. But we can put these REAL agents in danger from being hit by AQ and it’s not a big deal.

As I went over in: Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead (try and get any Liberal/dumb neighbors you have to read it - drop it in their door-jam ;-) lol) Political awareness and Coming to grips with the fact the JackAss Party today is nowhere what it used to be just 50 years ago (and even then it was socialist, just the RINO drip drip slow kind) is like the grieving process. We have some that get that SHOCK but quickly just eagerly dwell in the DENIAL phase for the rest of their life. It's easier that way, of course, to just stumble through life completely oblivious to Reality and keep the little bubble of friends equally in the dark. It is not until we force them to view out their window and see REALITY that they will get to the ANGER phase and to ultimate ACCEPTANCE of the error of their LIBERAL LAZINESS childishness (ultimately selfish, extort from others rather than do ANYTHING themselves to help their friends, family, neighbors, etc).

I say this all, of course, NOT for thoughtful RedStaters but for the visitors we have that hadn't figured this out yet and/or for those that might need one additional "thought-provoking" way to try and awaken one of the Brain-deads that may be in their life.

And you're right, inspiring to keep our spirits up. What a truly great man, no, let me rephrase that; what a great American he was. That's what he represents.

a conservative was described as one who was worried that "someone, somewhere was having fun"?

But you hit it on the head: A liberal Dem is someone who is afraid that somewhere, someone has slightly more material wealth than someone else. Pitiful.

As for racial, ethnic, or any other type group disparities, they are the NORM, not the reverse. Historically, large, identifiable sub-population groups have different rates of success at different enterprises, in different countries and at different times and for a variety of reasons, the LEAST of which is race, per se.

Dr. Thomas Sowell has written a number of books which more than adequately describe this phenomenon, e.g. "Vision of the Annointed", "Black Rednecks and White N******s" to name two.

Of course, reading sophisticated sociopolitical analysis is not high on the agenda of ACORN, SEIU, HCAN or any of the rest. And the Obamanation sure as heck doesn't want the rank and file of victimhood to discover there are many other reasons for such disparities than "racism".

Asians are a relatively small minority in this country, yet they bust the curve in almost every category of success. And it is due to traits and attributes which the race at large shares (work ethic, valuing education, sacrifice, delayed gratification, etc.), rather than anything as insignificant as skin color, which produces such superlative results for them. And this is why they are left completely out of "minority" set asides, affirmative action, etc. by clever libs targeting their preferred constituency with convoluted and deceptive terminology like"under-represented minorities."

To tell you the truth, if I were a member of an "under-represented minority", I would be thoroughly insulted at constantly being described as a social cripple and treated as an ignorant child by such great white benefactors and guardians of the black race as Robert [Exalted Cyclops] Byrd, Ted [Big Water] Kennedy, Nancy [Queenie] Pelosi and Harry [Body Odor] Reid.

I hope and pray I live to see the day when black folks finally realize they have been kept down and used as political pawns by a bunch of Chardonney sipping, Brie eating, limousine riding, self-righteous left-wing WHITE PEOPLE and rise up to send them to the personal obscurity and political netherworld the so richly deserve to occupy!

so we have to pay the penalty for the stupidity of the masses.

I resent that. I still maintain there needs to be an IQ test to qualify to vote. I think I wrote a diary about "restricting the franchise" a while back. I need to go find it again...
