Remember this?

My, oh my, how soon they forget.

As I was sitting at brunch this morning at the Redstate Gathering with some of my fellow contributors, Brian Faughnan sent us an email containing the Geithner story.  It just about ruined my semi-meal (thanks, Brian… ).  The part that galled me the most was:

“We have to bring these deficits down very dramatically,” Geithner told me. “And that’s going to require some very hard choices.”

“We will not get this economy back on track, recovery will be not strong and sustained, unless we convince the American people that we are going to have the will to bring these deficits down once recovery is firmly established,” he said.

Just a reminder of something we discussed previously: this is Obama’s deficit. So the Obama administration creates this deficit problem and then they put the onus to fix it on the backs of those who Obama claimed he would exempt from tax increases.  In other words, Obama lied – again.  Note in the video above, Obama (not once, but twice) says “Let me be clear,” just prior to stating his lie.

When Obama tells us “Let me be clear”, what he really means is “I’m about to tell you a whopper” and “hold on to your wallet”.
