Former Polish President and Nobel Peace Prize winner, Lech Walesa, has spoken out about media reports that the US has scrapped plans to install a missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic.
“Americans have always cared only about their interests, and all other [countries] have been used for their purposes. This is another example,” Mr Walesa told TVN24. “[Poles] need to review our view of America, we must first of all take care of our business,” he added.
“I could tell from what I saw, what kind of policies President Obama cultivates,” the former president added. “I simply don’t like this policy, not because this shield was required [in Poland], but [because of] the way we were treated,” he concluded.
Why can’t Lech Walesa get a little perspective? After all, Poland isn’t the first US ally to go under the Obamabus. As one friend of mine said:
Honduras, Colombia, Poland, Czech Republic – If you’re a small country menaced by a big tyrant, we’ll kick you right in the teeth.
I suspect Taiwan, South Korea, and Israel are taking note.

A View From Romania: American Socialist NObama Abandons Freedom-Loving People
Ausonius (Diary) Thursday, September 17th at 12:35PM EST (link)A professor friend of mine who is a native and resident of Romania wrote this to me in the last hour:
“I’m afraid it’s too late to be optimistic any more, and a turning point in America’s and indeed world’s history has been reached: socialism has taken over, by lies, deceit and propaganda, the minds and souls of the Western world’s citizens.”
The full impact of this disaster may not hit the average person for a while: isolationsim is hardly dead in America, after all.
When Americans see this was not about getting involved in Eastern Europe by placing troops there, but about letting the Eastern Europeans have some defense capapbility of their own, I think the unrest against Big BRObama will grow.
Unlike my Romanian friend, I remain optimistic that at least some of this can be undone.

Yes. There, I said it. We should be INTOLERANT of communists and socialists in this country. We should oppose them politically and shun them socially. We should be disgusted with them personally.
The only way we will get our country back is to cut them off, root and branch, from any semblance of acceptance.
I’m not advocating violence. They should be treated with civility, but just barely. Think about it. That’s what they are doing to us. Jimma Cata sez if you oppose President Obeyme it’s because he is a “black man” and you are a “racist.”
This is exactly the tool they have used to grab power. They have vilified the opposition, wrongly in my estimation. But we may vilify them with far more justification. Communism/socialism has resulted in the deaths of millions and the misery of billions.
It’s time to start calling them the elitist, hypocritical, self-righteous know-it-alls they have repeatedly shown themselves to be…

Russian Help Against IRAN???????????????
Ausonius (Diary) Thursday, September 17th at 1:33PM EST (link)Newsmax is running an article on this latest outrage:
An excerpt:
“Democratic Senator Charles Schumer said Washington would now await Moscow’s response.
“The Russians should return the gesture. It is time for Russia to join our push to impose stricter sanctions on Iran in order to halt its nuclear weapons program,” he said in a statement.”
Does anyone need to point out that this is a complete fantasy? That the Israeli press has already reported about the co-operation between Iran and Russia, that Russia has guaranteed gasoline supplies to Iran if there is any kind of sanction program against it?
The Russians will NOT be helping the U.S. against Iran: the Putin kleptocracy loses by helping America! Oil prices stay high, if the Iranians keep misbehaving, and thereby The Putin Conglomerate profits.

*Good* versus *not-good* capitalists in the foreign policy arena.
Crowe (Diary) Thursday, September 17th at 5:02PM EST (link)Walesa isn’t lying in that first graph, but he’s not entirely accurate either.
Sure, America, like all nations, works for its own interests. We’re good capitalists. Usually. And, like all *good* capitalists, that means that when we are working for our good interests we will do things that will also benefit other good peoples and nations. Not necessarily all good peoples and nations all at once, but all good peoples and nations eventually, through the channels. The same would be true if we were still, as a nation, *good* capitalists.
But now, since we have a *not-good* capitalist at the helm of the ship of state we’re going to do some really stupid things that hurt our own interests and severely hurt the interests of those who rely upon our benefices and *good* capitalist activities.
Working in one’s own self-interest isn’t a bad thing at all, because if it truly is in my good self-interest it will also be in the good self-interest of all good peoples.

Unilateral disarmament without any assurances of Russian reciprocation. I remember a retired US Admiral Moorer warning of Russian secrecy and the build up of their military while we were disarming. There was absolutely no fear or respect for the United States at that time. Now we have a president who is not only cutting back our military he is alienating former or potential allies. Sending the message that we are no longer backers of democracy and we will cave in the face of challenge. All we are doing is backing ourselves into a corner and destroying our credibility with the friends we have. Appeasement always leads to war.
