Iran? Well, we’re leaving Iraq in the lurch. They will have TREMENDOUS influence over Iraq, now.

Obama doesn’t care about Iran. He doesn’t believe they are a threat.

A professor friend of mine who is a native and resident of Romania wrote this to me in the last hour:

“I’m afraid it’s too late to be optimistic any more, and a turning point in America’s and indeed world’s history has been reached: socialism has taken over, by lies, deceit and propaganda, the minds and souls of the Western world’s citizens.”

The full impact of this disaster may not hit the average person for a while: isolationsim is hardly dead in America, after all.

When Americans see this was not about getting involved in Eastern Europe by placing troops there, but about letting the Eastern Europeans have some defense capapbility of their own, I think the unrest against Big BRObama will grow.

Unlike my Romanian friend, I remain optimistic that at least some of this can be undone.

A nuclear armed Czech and Poland…one can dream.

This is no coincidence. This outcome has been a forgone conclusion for months. But today it is officially declared.

I do not even know what to make of such ugliness.

Sure, America, like all nations, works for its own interests. We’re good capitalists. Usually. And, like all *good* capitalists, that means that when we are working for our good interests we will do things that will also benefit other good peoples and nations. Not necessarily all good peoples and nations all at once, but all good peoples and nations eventually, through the channels. The same would be true if we were still, as a nation, *good* capitalists.

But now, since we have a *not-good* capitalist at the helm of the ship of state we’re going to do some really stupid things that hurt our own interests and severely hurt the interests of those who rely upon our benefices and *good* capitalist activities.

Working in one’s own self-interest isn’t a bad thing at all, because if it truly is in my good self-interest it will also be in the good self-interest of all good peoples.

I guess it’s all about who you view as friends, and who you view as enemies. For Obama, communist dictators in training pants and 3rd world ne’er do wells are to be courted as friends, and freedom loving independent-minded republics are to be shunned as enemies.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed today that he declined last night to take a call from the U.S. informing him of the decision to scrap planned missile-defense bases in his country.

Two U.S.-based sources close to the Polish government said Thursday that Tusk also rejected a call from Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — on the grounds that, as the head of the government, he should speak to the president.

“Hillary called — and the reason he turned it down was because of protocol,” said a source.
