Solution -- Politicians should be prohibited running for office while holding office.

This shouldn't matter if you're running for reelection, or another office. To run for office, you shouldn't be holding an elective office.

You can run for as many terms as you wish, just not consecutively or without a break in between.

more tweaking of the McLame Campaign Finance BS... You know, so they don't have to constantly keep campaigning and fundraising and can "get our business done." Yeah Right! If they hadn't been over-reaching on everything else they'd be grasping at this one now too. It's coming though, always had been the original goal.

the less time they spend there than the less time they are screwing us - which was/is your point, to which I agree 100%. Personally, I think we should encourage Reid to send the <a href="http://www.redstate.com/jrichardson/2009/08/19/bipartisanship-is-dead-say-top-democrats/#comment-1193">The Senate HC "Gang Of Sicks"</a> on a nice long deserved rest (I'd chip in funds to that cause) so another SELLOUT/COMPROMISE isn't made at our expense.

So, Obummer's flying to another Demo fundraising event? And the US taxpayers have to pick up the costs for his transportation? Is that fair?
.
Also, the US Senate is shut down for half the day so they can prepare for Demo Fundraising Dinner? Is this appropriate?
.
Whatever happened?

the rest of the 8 most liberal republican US senators. Why not start with Utah's Senator Bob Bennett?

It would be fun to see if we can raise as much for those running against the most liberal republican senators.

Running against Bob Bennett are several, including Cherilyn Eagar. (from her facebook group)

Any delay in Senate business is a good thing, even for something so mundane as a fundraiser. I also hope that the ghost does win the Dim primary vs. Joe Sestak, but just barely. A weakened Specter is the best opportunity for Pat Toomey to win in Nov. 2010. Cheers, Frank

Saw some of the networks advertising shows that should be on tonight. Bet they're just over the moon at the notion of giving up more network time this soon.

If they are..... Don't believe I've seen any ads for the 455th Great Speech.

I had fallen out of the habit of listening to Rush on any regular basis. But then Comrade Obama started polluting my TV every morning about 8 AM (noon Eastern) and I can't stand the sight or sound of him so I turned the TV off and the radio on the Rush. Like it a lot better and I don't yell at the radio nearly as much as I yelled at the TV.

Speeches, speeches, speeches.

Even the word to me has a negative connotation. I am beginning to think it the only thing President Obama really knows how to do. Even lately, I am not even sure he is very good at that. Once you realize he is just reading what David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel wrote on his teleprompter.

...what with all these speeches and fundraisers. They guy is CONSTANTLY on TV. It's like a campaign that never stops.

Of course, that's pretty much in line with his experience. It's no wonder he needs so many "czars". SOMEBODY in the White House has to know what they're doing.
