That's right. The poll says that 9% of Republicans say that BO's spending is either just right or not enough.

That's the margin of error. There cannot conceivably be one single Republican in the entire United States of America who believes that. Not one.

Even amongst democrats, more think there is too much spending and too much government growth than too little?

That amazes me too!

There's no way any of them who have their eyes open can honestly still think he's God's gift to the POTUS. There's major buyer remorse going on.

Yet, his popularity numbers remain high?

Remember, if you say you don't like this President, you are a racist. Since many of them voted for him to avoid being called a racist, what they say will not change - he'll stay officially popular.

The 'Real' story, their 'Real' feelings about Obama are being expressed against the Democratic Congress and the President's policies.

Anyone who's ever dumped/been dumped by a significant other should be able to read the message:

"No, sweetlips, I think you're pretty. No, you're not too fat. No, I like the way you dress, yes; I like your parents....its not you at all, really - its me. I need to think for a while and get my head straight. Maybe we need some space for ourselves for a while, but we'll stay great friends, really. Sure, I'll call you next Weds - unless things really get busy."

It's good to see independents acting independantly. I always assumed that the majority of independents were really liberals trying to give off the appearance of moderation or open mindedness. Hope this trend continues to prove me wrong.

When they decided Obama was the candidate, the Democrats were counting on BOs popularity caused by the average pollee not wanting to be called a racists by the pollster. IMHO, the popularity poll is useless as an indicator.

the enormous gap between the too much and the too little crowds. If you take out the "about right" group from each issue independents 66% to 10% think that the President's plans call for too much spending and 60% to 11% think that his plans call for too much government expansion. Those are incredible gaps from the independent group and the democratic parties numbers are pretty good for conservatives too. It's nice to see Obama's policies are so unpopular.
