It’s official: we’re now a one-party state. The Republican Party needs to just shut up and slink away because they no longer have any part of the governing process, and their constitutents are sh*t out of luck – unless the Republicans want to be the Democrats’ sex slaves, then they might get a few scraps from their masters if they’re submissive enough in bed and put on a convincing enough act.

So this is what our country has come to, a genuine, unvarnished, corporatist state, where major industry stakeholders and big labor will dine with our Democratic overlords to gorge themselves upon the carrion of the still-warm body of our former republic, drawing sustenance from the flesh and blood to ward off any and all who would disturb the orgy.

He’s following the lead of Obama in resorting to blackmail, intimidation, coercion, etc.

If you can’t get your way through normal legislative channels, change the rules. If you still can’t count on a liberal judge to take care of it.

under normal circumstances, many everyday Democrats would find this sort of blatant extortion disgusting. But the Olbermann’s of the world will simply suggest that Obama’s Health Care plan is the right thing to do and that all efforts to oppose it are, by definition, evil. So resorting to the heavy-handed blackmail tactics of Baucus doesn’t seem so bad.

There is nothing more dangerous than a collection of power-hungry egomaniacs who fervently believe they’re doing the Right Thing.
