Democrats in Congress would have Americans believe that they have largely given up on their attempts to restrict the right of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms. Barack Obama tried to fudge questions on gun control during the campaign, but has nominated to the Supreme Court a judge whose radical view of the Second Amendment is that states and localities have the right to ban firearms if they so choose.
And now Congressman Dan Boren speaks to the NRA about his commitment to defending the right to keep and bear arms, despite the efforts of left wingers in Congress to take guns away:
It’s gratifying that a Democrat is willing to step up and tell the truth about the ‘unfavorable political climate’ in Washington, and the desire of the ‘political fringe’ to ban guns, and reinstitute gun control measures in general. Hopefully Boren will vote the way he talks.
And while liberals frequently paint Boren as a conservative extremist, National Journal ranks him quite close to the center of the House of Representatives. They rate him as the 197th most conservative Member of the 435 in the House – hardly a right winger. If a moderate like Boren is wary of the aims of gun control advocates in Congress, believers in the Second Amendment ought to be as well.

Of course it would be better if we were in charge, but it is also kind of cool that they gained the majority and still can’t get agreement. People such as this Congressman, on this issue, only hurt Demonrats because they show they can not govern, not even there own party.
Think about it this way, would it not be great if both parties had patriots? How cool would it be if we could say to the left, “heads we win, tails you lose”? I know that is not the case now, but the fact that real Blue Dogs exist shows we have more conservative support in this country than Republican support. That means we as a party still have fruit we can pick if we pull our heads out.

Either way, what I am saying is it is good to have pro 2A people in both parties because we know power moves back and forth between the parties. I am glad not all elected Democrats are hoplophobes.
I also pointed out that it is good for us that some Democrats were only elected because they claimed several conservative positions. This shows that at least some of the Democrat majority is based only on a Republican backlash and there are still conservatives that we can win back. I hardly think what I am saying is hogwash, I think it is in fact, factual.
Of course I want a Republican majority. I have seen politics and election results up close. I realize how huge the changes are when one party get’s into leadership and another loses it. Many people vote only on local issues and don’t see the big picture; I am not one of them. However, there are anti-gun Republicans and they are worse for our cause that pro gun Dems.
While we desire to purge and focus our party, can we not take some solace in the fact that the leftist progressives can not build a majority of pure Pelosi’es?

He said, “If you’re on that ‘no-fly’ list, your access to the right to bear arms is canceled, because you’re not part of the American family. You don’t deserve that right. There is no right for you if you’re on that terrorist list. If you’re on that list, because you are known as maybe a possible terrorist, you cannot buy a handgun in America.” Couple that with the Napolitano DHS enemies list, and it becomes clear what they intend.
They don’t need to cancel the 2nd Amendment. Just to steadily disenfranchise people from our Constitutional Right to keep and bear arms.

A quick check of his record does show many conservative positions on Gitmo, Oil, a flat tax, 2A, climate change etc. We can not ignore this completely in my opinion. If he cared deeply for these issues, he would not be a part in giving power to Pelosi, Frank, and all the other moonbats.
