Arlen Specter is done for. He’s not going to win that PA Primary. And no one will mourn his passing from Washington. Good riddance.

I made the point here that they promised something they can’t deliver.

Unless they are promising to use tactics of the nature of “make an offer they can’t refuse,” there isn’t anything the party leadership can do to stop someone from running.

Pennsylvania Dem office holders know that if they file, there is a decent chance they will be the next Junior Senator from Pennsylvania. Of course I hope not, but I acknowledge the reality.

A United State Senator is a very powerful person. There isn’t much you could promise as an alternative to a driven person to sway them away from running.

That said, I’m convinced that if a real Democrat runs, they’ll beat spincter in the primary. Either way, he’s done.
