Or should I say has been for a very long time?

I’m researching the relationship between Murtha and Robert Gleason, the PAGOP State Committee Chairman. Once I get a more coherent picture I will put it in a diary but suffice it to say Murtha is one of the worst actors in Washington and he has a republican ally in PA supporting him.

Unseating Murtha and Specter have to be top priorities for 2010.

If the government wasn’t on such a reckless path of power and oppression AND the politicians in the GOP stood up for some principles it wouldn’t be so bad but its a big deal now and these little relationships are going to ruin the country.

8 million dollars for an air traffic control system that no one uses??

That is criminal. Murtha should be in jail. And no, it is not his job, nor right, nor responsibility to spend our money any darn way he pleases.

How about this – how about John Murtha, and any other politician for that matter, be required to raise the money themselves in the marketplace for the projects they want in their State. And then further be required to put their own money into such projects themselves.

I am so fed up, so angry at the arrogance of our government, the corruption, the waste, the abuse of the powers we grant them that I sometimes feel we need a march on Washington to remove them all from office…..

The advertisement likened it to the Bridge to Nowhere….calling it the Airport for Nobody. Nice! Guess they eventually have to report on some of this. Oddly, although not so much, is that MSM outlets report at the same time….would be nice if the crack staffs (ahem!) at the MSM outlets would take the next logical step to say if this $200M was down the drain, how much more was wasted. A random thought in my mind doesn’t put it past the Obama marketing arm known as the MSM to do an obligatory report on one of these….treat the rest as 100% useful…and reach their arm around to pat themselves on the back for a Job Well Done.

without going into the whole “Bridge To Nowhere” thing again, it is amazing how the Democrats “understand” future growth/expansion and concern for this areas future economic development/expansion … but the Bridge To Nowhere (again, way over-priced and made a boondoggle, but the basic premise and NEED for a bridge reasonable and one I supported) was just all “corrupt.”

In more prosperous times I would possibly support this project too, but the peeps of PA should be paying for it. If an existing Airport in AK without a ROAD to get to it can’t get a Bridge, then the Airport in PA sure as bleep shouldn’t be getting any funds right now!

When I see things like this, I become convinced that we’re seeing the beginning of the end of our great country. All empires fall–I think that there’s a very good chance that the United States of America will fall within the next 100 years.

The greatest threats to this nation don’t come from outside our borders, but instead come from this nation’s citizens. It’s obvious that a huge proportion of Americans don’t have a clue on how to be a responsible citizen or what is required to keep our country running and prosperous.

A good chunk of our citizens don’t even have a basic education. Without education it is impossible to understand the modern world and act with intelligence.

We may be doomed….

The airport is NOTHING.

Downtown one see’s billboards showing this or that building or activity with ‘Jack and Joyce ‘Murtha’s face all over them. Medical centers and research activities are named after both of them. The National Drug Intelligence Center (NDIC)Lives there in the old Glossers Department store building – thanks to good ole Jack. Streets. Highways. You name it – all have Murtha’s face or name smeared over them. It’s a Middle Ages fiefdom in that town and surrounding areas.

Proprietary corporations have been established; corporations that import high-tech employees and leave the locals dangling – all funneling Murtha’s ill-begotten pork money into Johnstown and the remainder of his district.

Meanwhile, since Murtha’s election in the mid-70s all industry (traditional employers for generations) have shut their doors and slipped away: Steel. Coal. Railroads.Mines. And all the many small businesses that thrive in their shadow have all but disappeared.

Gone.

Now fathers, sons and daughters compete for the dwindling number of minimum wage jobs – all are stunned and numbed by the region’s industrial collapse.

Infrastructure is crumbling (or has already done so). Roads are amongst the worst in the nation. Murtha’s district comes as close to being a British Rotten Borough as the real deal.

It hurts the heart to go back there and visit family friends, and becomes more difficult each return. A once thriving region literally pillaged an plundered by Murtha, his minions and their ilk.

Murtha is a detestable critter by any measure. He is a moral coward, a f aux Marine and incalculable egomaniac.

Still, Murtha is emblematic of what we have permitted our representatives, politics and government to become: Scum swilling bottom feeders.
