I think they are. Remember, the administration is built on a house of cards and they have are jokers.

Party in power over reaches, earns the scorn of the people, who vote in the opposition.

General amnesia sets it amongst the electorate, and the cycle repeats.

If another 9/11 type terrorist attack happens, the Democrats are never going to be trusted again on National Security issues after this little show.

Rarely (if ever) are Americans “angry” when our national security is too “harsh” on obvious enemies that wish to do us harm. They are much more likely to be angry at too tepid a response to those who want to destroy us.

The dimocrats have not had to answer to anyone for years. The press are just rewrite people for them. When you are in that type of cocoon you can and will do anything.

Somebody needs to fly a giant red paintball into the LA Tower to illustrate what would have happened that day if measures had not been taken. In concert, dump some mannequins on the sidewalk around the building.

And the GOP needs to present a united front in defense of the policy, PUSHING every day the idea that Congress voted for this.

Wouldn’t it be great if Ollie North would run for President? He is a man with the qualifications needed to be leader of the free world. Honest, a true patriot, well-spoken, conservative, military experience, etc,etc,etc. Thanks for putting the re-run of his testimony up. It was especially enjoyable to listen to…again. I heard it when he originally gave the testimony.

Finding Republicans, especially from the notoriously self defense averse Bush Administration with the guts to go all Kamikaze like North did against mendacious Democrat inquisitors is going to be difficult.

After Stevens, Libby, Burns, etc. Republicans should have long ago realized that being polite and following the rules of etiquette and “comity” against bad faith operators is always going to be a losing proposition.

So here’s my advice to John Yoo and the rest of his fellow legal counsel to the Bush Administration who are being targeted by this; go in with swords drawn.

Name Democratic names. Burn bridges. Attack, insult and question your questioners’ intelligence. As painful as this may be for you, make it a 100 times more painful for them.

from the McCarthy hearings, to the Nixon Pardon, to the Clinton impeachment and they’ll move Heaven and Hell, not to speak of Earth to try to have that revenge.
