He's one of the most disgusting and dangerous people in the Senate, and has been since Day One. His 1988 run for the Dem Pres. nomination was nothing short of repellent.

I've been convinced for a long time that, along with Schumer, Harkin is one of the most evil men in the Senate.

Or am I the dumb one? Either these jerks can't see past their full coffers or they have never really had to work for a living (Schumer...Schumer?). Or maybe both. I know that the unions fill their coffers, but do they really believe that today, in 2009, EVIL corporations are out to keep employees as poor as they can? As a financial executive for over 10 years (who has worked in big business settings as well as small and as an auditor), I have seen that most employers do the best they can for their employees. Smart companies know that happy workers = productive workers.

I'm not saying that McDonald's pays the best wages, but until we are all ready to pay $20 for a Big Mac, they won't. The reality is that there are jobs that pay better than others. People need to start dealing with it and stop expecting that everything be handed to them on a silver platter.

horror movie. This simply cannot be happening in the USA. But apparently it is. My husband left a lucrative career as a consultant to become a high school chemistry teacher - Tennessee is a right to work state (so far) - if it ever ceases to be, or if he ever is forced to join a union, he will leave the teaching profession. Which is too bad - teachers who are "re-treads" from private industry have SO MUCH to offer - but my husband will only put up with so much. And unions will push him over the edge.

Read Rules for Radicals in which Alinsky brags about having a dinner before all his activists went to some public meeting. They all had beans, lots of beans for dinner a couple of hours before the meeting with predictable results. They insult and incite and what they want more than anything else is to get you to react and over-react. You just have to learn to play it.

One of my favorites was back when I was working for the Legislature and the Knowles Administration had made some phony deals with the unions that they were touting as "no cost" contracts - except they'd given the unions a big increase in H&W contributions, By dark of night we ginned up a Legislative Resolution disapproving the Administration's contracts. We did it first in the Senate where it passed handily. But, I didn't have the votes in the House and try as I might, couldn't get them. I had some abused Republican children who wanted to be nice to the unions so they'd stop beating them. The unions, being stupid decided to sing songs and carry signs in front of the Capitol Bldg. Everybody is immune to that, so since they really wanted some attention, they went running and screaming through the Capitol beating on coffee cans and carrying picket signs on baseball bats - classy folks! I got my votes! You just have to give them an opportunity to be themselves and before long even Democrats can't stand them.

classless.

At least show some respect for where you are. You are not in some bar hanging with your buddies, you are at the United States Capitol. Time and place, people, time and place.

Is there any footage or proof that they actually threw things. Your right. This is how they act at a Senate hearing. You know what they will do in the employee lunchroom, I live in a union occupied territory. Hate the marxist gangsters.

With a complete Democratic lock, DC is turning into a caricature of themselves. With no real leader from the WH, they are spinning out of control. While it gives me confidence in a successful mid-term election, I worry what will be done before then.
