What Is It with Democrats and Taxes?

Geithner, Daschle, Franken, and Now their Nominee in NY's Special Congressional Election

I wrote yesterday about Scott Murphy — the Democrat candidate for Kirsten Gillibrand’s old House seat. I pointed out that he was trying to send part of his resume down the memory hole — suddenly erasing from his biography his role in starting an Indian rival to Ebay. I pointed out that he’d also had problems paying his taxes in the past. But now I see that his firm — Small World Software — still has outstanding liens against it with the New York State Department of Taxation.

Apparently Murphy isn’t even meeting up to the standard set by Tim Geithner and Tom Daschle: at least they had the sense to pay their back taxes before they stepped into the national spotlight. Hopefully he will do so now that he’s running for Congress.

Democrats are acting as if this race is unwinnable. They’re telling everyone who’ll listen that their candidate has nearly no chance, despite the fact that they’ve won the seat handily the last two cycles, that it has a very slight Republican tilt, and that they currently hold at least 28 other House seats that have as large a ‘Republican tilt’ or larger. If they have no chance in this seat, it means they’re writing off 29 seats of their 40 seat majority.

The only thing that could make this seat unwinnable is a bad candidate. Let’s weigh his assets and debits.

On the plus side:

  1. He’s rich
On the down side:
  1. He hasn’t paid his taxes
  2. He’s erasing parts of his resume — for reasons that aren’t clear
  3. Not only is he a carpetbagger, he held a high ranking office in Missouri just 8 or 9 years ago — meaning he’s also being disingenuous when he claims in his bio to have been working in New York ‘since the early 1990s’

I think this race is likely to be closer than Democrats would have you believe, but at the same time I wonder if local Democrats weighed all this when they nominated Murphy.

because like all of liberalism, it’s a good idea until it applies to you. God help us!

The Hypocrite Dem's

What a bunch sick, disgusting hypocrites these Democrats are. But then again 90% of them in office are nothing but, filthy, lying, cheating, thieving, anti American scumbags, who could care less about this country or any of us. They are there to see what they can suck out of the taxpayers. They should all be out of office and in prison…

Let’s not forget Charlie Rangle either. He didn’t pay taxes on his rental property but then he writes tax law. And William Jefferson who had $90,000 in his freezer. I’m sure he was not planning on reporting that income so he could pay taxes on that. then there’s Chris Dodd with his sweetheart deal. And the absolutly disgusting Barney Frank, who along with Dodd are the most responsible for the mortgage melt down. These are VILE People…

Again I say the people who keep voting this crap into office are insane or dumb or just so selfish themselves. I wonder what they plan on doing and who they think is going to take care of them after they have destroyed the good old USA.

How do we expect our kids to act when we time after time put into high office people who break the laws, especially TAX evasion, when they expect us to pay more than 50% of all we make in taxes of every sort???

Can you just imagin what the media would do if these were Republicans.

Your lovable little SuperCon, MAVsays

If Scott Murphy is rich....

why didn’t he pay his taxes?

Never mind.

Jim Tedisco

Republican Assembly Minority Leader Jim Tedisco is Murphy’s opponent, and is just what this country needs in Congress. Tedisco is a FIGHTER. He received national attention when he took on then-Governor Spitzer, when Spitzer tried to make it lawful for ILLEGAL immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.

Even though Tedisco is a fighter, he’s a personable guy who connects with the people, and was very personable when I heard him fill in on a talk show.

He is prolife, against so-called gay “marriage,” pro-2nd amendment, a fiscal conservative, and as a NYer, I will feel safe because I know he will do his part in fighting terrorism.

btw, he is Chairman Michael Steele’s first election, and Steele even came to meet with Tedisco.

I hope Tedisco gets support from around the country in this election, because we need another conservative Congressman who will fight the good fight. We have too many milk toast Republicans in Congress, but Tedisco is a tough fighter, and I have a strong feeling that he will liven up Congress. :)
