FDR Was a Piker

The Obama-Reid-Pelosi Debt Package Spends Far More than FDR

How much do Democrats need to spend to ‘fix’ the economy? Apparently more than FDR did during the New Deal:

Take a look at that, and remember that ‘progressives’ have hit upon one consistent talking point: if Republicans aren’t going to vote for the debt package, Congress should go ahead and make it much bigger.

Yes, it’s possible.

Call your Senators today, and tell them to put a stop to this.

FDR's New Deal wasn't enough to pull us out of the Depression

We didn’t really pull out of the depression till much later- namely, when we spent something like 45% of GDP in the peak years of WWII.

So yes, if you really think we need a stimulus package to turn the economy around (I’m skeptical), you need to be spending much more than a measly 1% of GDP. The Keynesian economists even told FDR he wasn’t spending enough at the time.
