This sounds a lot like what’s known on Wall Street as a “reflex rally.”

One of the cachets the “progressives” (sick) have always had for themselves is that (as per Marx) their worldview is an inevitable destination for society. They were able to convince themselves that The O represented the progressives finally taking over – the end of the inevitable social evolution.

They’ll indeed be wailing loudly before too long….

I think we’re headed for mass disillusionment on the Left, which will eventually be capped by the Left carrying those standard French-style papier-mache heads, this time modeled on Obama and Biden.

Barack Obama will not get out of the Middle East, not outlaw oil, not repeal FISA, not destroy all our weapons and disband our armies, etc., etc. So eventually they will regard him as a traitor.

And their flags will go back into hiding.

Once the euphoria wears off and they realize we’re still in Iraq and Afghanistan for the long term, terrorists are still being held at GTMO, foreigners are still getting their phones tapped, and their messiah is promoting tax cuts, they’ll go right back to doing what they did before.

is the possibility of re-filing the “Flag Burning Ban” Bill in the Congress and make it actually signed by a US President.

However, the new leader in the WH doesn’t like the American Flag that much. I just hope that he has already changed his mind, now that he is the POTUS.

For one I’d rather them wave the flag than burn it, no matter the circumstances.

Also, I’m glad they are “onboard” with America. Perhaps as Obama continues to pursue a centrist presidency that these lefties will adjust their world view to be more centrist, to prevent the cognitive dissonance with their Love for Obama. If Bush says “Support Israel” it’s imperialism, but if Obama says it, it’s gospel. This is easily possible if you have an ignorant world view.

This could lead to a realignment of some leftist radicals back into the mainstream. Not all, but some. It could also work because Obama gives them cover to adjust their uneducated views. I think these pluses outweigh your minuses.
