I’m rebelling against our hollywood society – but it is what it is, unfortunately. It won’t do the GOP any good to have such high and noble ideals for the party if it doesn’t resonate with the masses. But with the MSM, we’re pretty much screwed either way!

If we aspire to the substance and not the presentation, which is my tendency, then we’ll be labeled out of touch and worse. And if we promote a “good actor” (even if the message is dead on) then we’ll be accused of copy-catting Obama.

So I don’t really have the answer either. Yes, I agree that with a perfect presentation of the message Jindal gave, more would have been impressed. The media still would have slammed it (I hadn’t heard some of the MSM comments until this evening – what a bunch of LOSERS! Chris Matthews and the rest – get a REAL job). Look what they did to Sarah Palin – she had the presentation and the message – and they had to crucify her. She was such a complete and total threat to the left they really almost could not deal with it. That was spiritual warfare, pure and simple. So how do you fight THAT?

I think we do need to be careful not to “eat our own” as Rush and Hannity both commented today. I’m not saying to be dishonest – if his presentation was weak, don’t say it was great – but we can come out smiling and confident and say “Wow. What a great response Bobby Jindal had to the Obama speech”. But, I realize that I did NOT see it – I only heard it. So the presentation factor was not nearly as great for me. Things were much simpler in FDR’s time – no TV!!
