Republicans in Illinois (and in Texas too I guess) love the thought of a special election, because it gives them a shot at winning the seat. Even the Dems talked about a special election. But the cost is pretty high — and Illinois is short of cash like every other state. So I don’t expect them to follow through with the special election idea.

As for the Democratic “culture of corruption” or lessons of “Don’t elect corrupt suckweasels…” you’re talking about a state which just put it’s last govenor (a Republican) in prison for selling drivers licenses in order to raise campaign cash. Both sides have proven to be suckweasels and corrupt.

It’s never been about policy or governmental philosophy here in Illinois. It’s about power and greed and entitlement. Both parties have screwed the public.

the Federal Government pay for it they are paying for everything else at this point and I would love my tax dollars to go to an open election for the seat of The Messiah NOW that is something I can get behind because I believe Republicans might have a shot with all that culture of corruption going on in the Democrat party right now!

Hmmm, I don’t suppose the kind Senator from the great State of Texas is willing to help pay for that special election is he?

As for Burris, he’s not that bad a guy actually. A bit bland and self-aggrandizing, but worst is that he proves he’s an idiot by hooking his car to the Blago express.

I’m pushing for Oprah! If Caroline Kennedy can do it for New York, why not? I hear she’s already looking at real estate in DC so she can be near “The One”!

At the very least she might get all these bozo’s in Washington into some sort of self-help/healing sessions or Maya Angelou meditation readings that would keep them too busy to spend all our money!

Sounds like Harry Reid could use a little of Oprah’s special brand of sensitivity training too!
