Clarence Thomas Has Bad News for Leftists Hoping for a Less Right-Leaning Supreme Court

It’s odd that the most hated man on the Supreme Court by the left — Brett Kavanaugh notwithstanding — is the second black member to hold a seat on the highest bench in the land. His name has been spoken with venom for decades by Democrats, and to this day they still bring him up as a failure on their part.

Especially Joe Biden.

Rumors began flying around of an upcoming retirement of a conservative justice in mid-February to the fear of the right and the delight of the left. CNN even stoked the fires by suggesting that Thomas was on his way out. It was even echoed by the New Yorker’s Jeffery Toobin.

We can safely say now that everyone can come back from the edge of their seat. Thomas has announced that he’s not going anywhere, and said he’ll even still be around in 30 years.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, Thomas said flatly during a Pepperdine University School of Law dinner that he’s not budging, and even refused to elaborate as to when he may retire:

Thomas is known for saying very little and asking few questions during deliberations before the court, so it’s little surprise that when asked at a Pepperdine University School of Law dinner last weekend who he would want to speak at his retirement party in 20 years, Thomas tersely replied, “I’m not retiring.”

The moderator then nudged the question forward by asking about a 30-year timeline, but the justice laughed and said, “Nope,” according to Law360.com.

It would appear, at least for now, that the left will just have to live with a court that is predominantly right leaning. Thomas has no intentions to retire, even putting his age at 100 years. While it’s not likely he’ll live that long, we can safely assume that he’s say ing he’ll be sitting on that bench until the day he dies.

And and a good thing too.
