Trump Is More Favored Than Ocasio-Cortez, Poll Finds

Rep Ocasio-Cortez

It just keeps getting worse for the freshman Democrat from New York.

According to a Siena College Research Institute poll, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has grown so unpopular that President Donald Trump is better liked than she is. While Trump sits at a 36 percent favorability rating according to the poll, Ocasio-Cortez is currently at 32 percent.

Trump does, however, have a higher unfavorability rating than AOC at 60 percent and 44 percent respectively, with 26 percent either have no opinion or can’t make up their mind about Ocasio-Cortez.

As Gallup pointed out recently, Ocasio-Cortez’s star has skyrocketed, making her more of a recognized name than ever. The problem for her is that the more people get to know her, the less they seem to like her.

Gallup currently has her unfavorability rating at 41 percent as of February, up 15 points from September.

These developments come after the freshman Democrat has raised a lot of media ruckus around various things such as the Green New Deal, which many Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have publicly looked down on.

The same Siena poll also points out that when it comes to Amazon pulling out of the deal it was making to bring 25,000 jobs to New York, New Yorkers see Ocasio-Cortez as the primary villain. Amazon had not named AOC as the cause of the dropped deal by name, but did mention politicians that opposed the deal. No one had risen more opposition to it than Ocasio-Cortez.

As one Twitter user points out, Ocasio-Cortez loves to tout that Republicans are actually afraid of her, and that’s why they keep attacking her. The truth is that Republicans are happy to have her around, as she continued to encourage the real radicalism of the Democratic party to show itself.

So long as AOC continues to act as a radical within her own party, the GOP will benefit from her to the point where even the man Democrats hate most is more liked than the woman we’re told is the future of the Democratic party.
