Failed Democratic hopeful for President Hillary Clinton doesn’t seem to believe that civility can be achieved with Republicans and encouraged the opposite.
Sitting down in an interview with CNN, Clinton, mincing no words, told the host that being civil with Republicans is out of the realm of reality and that civility can only continue once Democrats have power over the House and Senate.
“You cannot be civil with a party that wants to destroy what you stand for, what you care about,” said Clinton. “That’s why I believe if we are fortunate enough to win back the House and/or the Senate, that’s when civility can start again, but until then the only thing the Republicans seem to recognize and respect is strength.”
Clinton went on to say that Republicans showed how civil they are against their opponents, including people like Christine Blasey Ford and women who have come forward about their sexual assaults, John Kerry and the swift boat saga, and herself.

This is dangerous, to say the least. At a time when our political discourse has devolved into mob tactics against political opponents at their most vulnerable, this is encouraging a continuation of the mob tactics used against Republicans that have so far inched dangerously close to actual violence.
Democratic leaders such as Corey Booker and Maxine Waters have encouraged Democratic voters to go out and confront Republicans during private moments, be they in restaurants or even at home. I’ve written previously that this encouragement of confronting people on the right with mob tactics is setting someone up to be hurt, or possibly worse.
These mob tactics can already be seen in the reaction to Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court, but also in the ways that mobs confront politicians and right-wing activists such as Ted Cruz or Charlie Kirk and Candace Owens.
Recently, mob anger has driven Antifa to react violently, the most recent example being in Portland, Oregon, where Antifa members blocked traffic and threatened anyone with physical harm if they disobeyed them. One elderly man actually did, and the members chased him down and damaged his car.
Recently, one pro-abortion demonstrator roundhouse kicked a pro-life woman in the head while she was attempting to debate with him.
Let’s not forget the attempted assassination of Republican politicians while they practiced for a baseball game.
This is what Clinton encourages when she encourages throwing civility out of the window against Republicans. Whether she means to or not, Clinton is telling the left that they should practice violence and/or intimidation against those they disagree with.
If Clinton does not mean a continuation of violent mob tactics, then she needs to come out and clarify that immediately, otherwise, we may see things devolve even further in our political back-and-forth.
