This Abortion Advocate's Lunacy Is Part of Why the Abortion Industry Is Losing

People look on during an Utah Pro-Life Coalition rally at the Utah State Capitol Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, in Salt Lake City. There’s a reason why many people consider the abortion industry to be a place where the most extreme advocates gather. Between the fire and brimstone verbal hysterics engaged by politicians and activists, and the ridiculous vagina costumes they put on, few groups can actually top the crazy that abortion advocates resort to.

It’s why here in America, the approval for abortion is starting to slack. According to analyzers, this is because the more science that is released about babies developing in the womb, the more people tend to view the fetus as a baby. This is throwing a serious wrench in the abortion industry’s attempts to normalize abortion, which have ranged from trying to convince people that miscarriages and abortion are the same, to literally attempting to scare black women out of being a mother.

Continuing the crazy-train narrative is one Merle Hoffman, president and CEO of Choices Women’s Medical Clinic, who said that the mere existence of Christian anti-abortionists is a literal crime against women and that they are the “American Taliban.”

No word yet on how many babies the Christian anti-abortionists have killed, but I’m guessing that’s because the number is zero. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood’s kill count as of their 101st birthday last October was over 7 million, with them averaging around 300,000 deaths a year. The Taliban can’t claim numbers that high. According to them, one year they claimed to have killed over 17,000.

But according to Hoffman’s memoirs “Intimate Wars: The Life and Times of the Woman Who Brought Abortion from the Back Alley to the Boardroom,” she looks at babies like they are the Taliban, referring to them as “unjust aggressors,” and talks like abortion providers and those women who get abortions are more like freedom fighters.

Life News quotes the memoir:

Does the fetus not impede a woman’s tendency to maintain her own existence? Is it not an unjust aggressor, threatening the survival of the mother? Is not a woman’s choice of abortion an act of self-defense?… I wasn’t immune to the physicality of abortion, the blood, tissue, and observable body parts. My political and moral judgments on the nature of abortion evolved throughout the years, but I quickly came to realize that those who deliver abortion services have not only the power to give women control over their bodies and lives, but also the power-and the responsibility-of taking life in order to do that. Indeed, acknowledgment of that truth is the foundation for all the political and personal work necessary to maintain women’s reproductive freedom. … The act of abortion positions women at their most powerful, and that is why it is so strongly opposed by many in society. Historically viewed as and conditioned to be passive, dependent creatures, victims of biological circumstance, women often find it difficult to embrace this power over life and death. They fall prey to the assumption, the myth, that they cannot be trusted with it.

Even people who believe abortions should be legal can get behind the fact that this woman is clearly out of her mind. Babies do not threaten the survival of the mother. In fact, more often than not, babies in the womb see to it that the mother’s body maintains a solid state of health. Furthermore, abortion does not position a woman at her “most powerful.” According to a study by Dr. Priscilla Coleman, over half of women ended up using mental health drugs after their abortions due to hard feelings of guilt and sadness.

And the insane icing on this asinine cake is the assumption that people resist abortion so hardcore because it somehow empowers women. No, crazy person, it’s because it kills a baby.

If you’re wondering why people are taking abortion advocates less and less seriously, or why Planned Parenthood feels like it’s losing traction in the overall debate, this woman is why. It’s because the fantasy world that they live in slowly being stripped away piece by piece, and without their protective bubble, the narrative they’ve spun is being brought into complete focus, and it looks ugly as sin.
