Hollywood's Latest Anti-2A Movie Has Flopped Before It's Even Released

Hollywood’s leftist propaganda arm has been hard at work trying to convince people that taking away second amendment rights can be a fun, lighthearted thing to do. In this particular case, withholding sex, vandalizing property, and causing divisions in marriages is also just a jolly romp.

A new movie is set to release next month called “Is That a Gun in Your Pocket?” and the main theme of the movie is that guns are horrible enough to destroy your marriage over. The premise is that a small southern community of lovers and married folk runs into an issue when a kid somehow gets his hands on what looks like a C96 Mauser and it goes off while at school. Thankfully no one was hurt, but this prompts the women of the community to take action.

Their solution? No sex until the men of the town get rid of every gun they have. What results is what’s supposed to be a hilarious men vs women war of will, as the women try to torture their men with their bodies, and spray paint their rifles pink. The entire town becomes divided by sex, and both men and women have meetings to strategize how to defeat the other.

“As tensions and libidos rise, the men and women of Rockford must decide what’s really important: keeping the peace or getting a piece,” says the description.

Here’s the trailer:

If the trailer made your eye twitch, you’re not the only one. Its YouTube page shows that audiences aren’t going along with this sad display of silver screen propaganda with an endless wave of negative comments, and 770 thumbs down compared to its 129 thumbs up.

While it being an obvious political statement bugs me, there are more specific reasons.

For one, it assumes that all women automatically hate guns. As far as I can tell, not one woman in that southern community was attempting to defend people’s right to own a firearm, and it was all men. Anyone who’s been to the south for more than 5 minutes knows that southern women are just as gung-ho about their guns as the men are.

Secondly, it promotes the idea that withholding sex until your political preferences are obeyed is okay. Truth be told, marriages in which sex is held hostage until a partner gets what they want is not at all advised by any serious marriage counselor that I’ve read. In fact, the act as fallen into the category of “abuse” by many. It just makes these women come off as complete and total villains, instead of the heroes just trying to do the right thing.

Finally, it outright gives a tall middle finger to the idea of liberty. I know that because the final bit of the trailer has famed actress, Cloris Leachman, stating “Liberty? F*ck them and their liberty. Punk a** mother f*ckers.” I’m not sure how they thought this would play out with their audience, but it sure as hell didn’t.

I’ve seen a lot of bad attempts to popularize getting rid of guns, but this might be the most try-hard attempt yet. When it bombs next month – and it will – it’ll be yet another example of what happens when you try to use sexism and propaganda to make a movie. If Ghostbusters couldn’t survive it, this can’t either.
