The inert “action” star has a long history of harassment. 2 serious accusations have now been made.

As the Hollywood sex abuse scandals continue to unspool fans and others have taken various positions. Some (myself, as an example) cheer on the revelations and career collapse of these lecherous demons. Others bemoan the loss of talent and even caution against a possible witch hunt reprisal environment.

A few of us on staff have a short list of those stars that might shock us were they to be revealed as sexual predators. Steven Seagal is not on this list. Rather than shock, news of accusations about him makes one check their watch in wonderment what has taken this long? The actor has a long filmography, and he also has a lengthy resume of accusations of sexual impropriety. Now two women have come forward with details of a dire nature.

Reported by The Wrap, the dire tale is of a young actress, Regina Simons, who recounted an actual rape taking place, in 1994 after appearing in a bit role in Seagal’s film “On Deadly Ground”. It is a scene right out of the Harvey Weinstein playbook: Have the target arrive at a location under false pretense, and once alone pounce in an aggressive fashion.

Regina Simons says she was 18 and an extra on Steven Seagal’s 1994 film “On Deadly Ground” when he invited her to a wrap party at his Beverly Hills home. But when she arrived, she said, he was the only one there. “He took me into this room and then just closed the door and started kissing me,” she said. “He then took my clothes off and before I knew it he was on top of me, raping me… I wasn’t sexually active yet. People always talk about fight-or-flight. But no one talks about the freeze.

In similar fashion, but with a less tragic result, a Dutch model-actress, Faviola Dadis, has also gone to authorities in the past month with a report of being attacked. Dadis recounts a story about a purported audition she was called for, concerning a film that never found its way into production. There is enough similarity here to suggest a pattern.

I was invited for a private audition at the W Hotel late in the evening. Steven said the audition was to see my figure. I was told to wear a bikini under my clothes, and that the PA and casting director would also be there. As this is quite standard in the modeling industry, I agreed to the audition. I was escorted to the room by Steven’s personal assistant. I assumed the PA and casting director were already in the room, but when I arrived no one was there but Steven and his security who stood blocking the door. I noted this was a bit strange, but he apologized and explained they had other obligations.

Fortunately, before things became untenable, Dadis took action and was able to extract herself from the situation.

He approached me and said he wanted to act out a romantic scene. I was hesitant and expressed this, then he started fondling my breasts and grabbing my crotch. I quickly yelled “This audition is over!”, and tried to run out of the room but was blocked by his security. I started making a noticeable amount of noise, and his security realized I would alert someone, and let me leave. I never reported this to anyone out of fear that someone like Steven, with such a huge amount of power, influence, and money would easily win a legal battle; and furthermore that I would damage my career.

While these are very strong testimonies, from ladies willing to go on record as well as go to the authorities, they seem to buttress long years of accusations and supposition hovering over Steven Seagal. Famous actresses like Katherine Heigl, Julianna Margulies, Portia De Rossi, Jenny McCarthy have delivered accusations, as have a long list of former assistants. Seagal even has his own Al Franken moment, as a picture of him feeling up a 16-year-old Heigl is floating around.

Taking things even further, Seagal will have a hard time with deniability hinging on “old” stories. As The Wrap was corroborating some of the testimony the outlet turned to the Los Angeles Police Department, as the women brought their cases to detectives therein. A spokesperson from the LAPD declined to comment, due to confidentiality, but they did state that Seagal is being investigated in yet another case, dating back to 2005.
