The only plans he has ever had were to do whatever would benefit him personally. For example, he stated that he was “for” drilling off VA’s coasts in order to bring in state revenues. He only said that after McDonnell made it a big part of his plan for revenue and job creation for Virginians. What Democrat would ever even say they were for drilling? McDonnell asked to set up 10 debates with Deeds up until election day. Deeds refused, and, agreed to only 3. He doesn’t have anything to say except to back all of Obamas ideas, and, we all know how popular they have been. The lower Obama goes in the polls, and the more desperate he gets in his speeches, the lower Deeds will go as well. Lackluster isn’t the word for his campaign, it’s looking worse than McCain’s.

“Most” Virginians don’t have a bloodlust for killing infants and old people. It is in the NOVA area that has turned so Liberal, as in most bigger cities. The rural areas are still heavily Republican, and, don’t support Liberal agendas. If you read the diary, you would see that now even in those NOVA areas, Republicans have been winning, just as McDonnell will in November. It’s not just Obama fatigue, it’s Tim Kaine fatigue as well. Kaine, the new DNC Chair, has not been a very popular Governor. While many complain because he is spending half his time traveling the country doing his DNC job, I’m glad he’s gone, as he can’t do more damage to the state. He was behind the whinning DNC add blamining the former administration for all the country ills- in other words- it’s Buuush’s fault for everything. I don’t know how long ago you “escaped” from Virginia, but, you’re personal opinion is not accurate.

I lived in Virginia most of my life and it’s only gotten worse since I escaped.

Almost all Virginians have a bloodlust for killing infants and old people, just like Obama.

never thought I would see more signs for McDonnell riding through the blue marsh that is Fairfax county. I have only seen McDonnel signs in PWC, at least on the Lake Ridge side of it not the Woodbridge or Dale City.

I saw few Deeds signs during the primary and fewer now. One woulf have thought they’s leave the primary signs up after he won, but they disappeared quickly.

I’ve seen one Deeds sign in my area and that is one of those Gov/Lt Gov/AG ticket signs….meaning it is tiny and imposible to read No bumper stickers for Deeds at all.

This is mainly Mt. Vernon and Falls Church areas that I see regularly.

His message is forward thinking and his stand on the issues resonates with Virginians.

The best Deeds has done on some of the issues is a “me too” stance. If he thinks this is going to connect with the voters, I believe he is sadly mistaken.

The liberal N. VA transplants who might actually be interested in abortion rights are nonetheless aware that it is a Supreme Court issue. It may influence them to some extent, but it’s going to be way down on the list.

I think he’s trying to run as Obama,

he thinks that he needs to base his policies off Obama’s, and that way he’ll win like Obama did.

It is surprising that Deeds trotted out the abortion issue. Attacking McDonnell on that social issue is not going to play well with the western part of the state, they may have blue dog Democrats, but they are still conservative.

Here in the Tidewater area, Bob is well thought of and he has many friends and neighbors who knew him for a number of years before he even ran for Attorney General. I don’t think the tight margin (500 or so votes) he beat Deeds by in that race, was really indicative of his strength and the conservative bent of this state. 2006 was already seriously affected by the anti-Bush sentiment and unpopular wars.

BTW, I have not seen one Deeds sign in this area, Va. Beach/Norfolk. McDonnell signs are springing up everywhere.
