I am serious. Political activism is not necessarily anti-social behaviour, but you are right. The scary part is the picking of winners and losers that this signifies. It is all of a piece with other actions spearheaded by the congress and the president (so-called). Thanks for pointing to the AT article.

Makes me almost want to go out and buy an American flag just so I can fly it upside down, but I would never do that.

It has a McCain/Palin sticker, an NRA sticker, a Blue Star flag, and a Dale Earnhadrt “3.” It even has a gun rack and the squid part of a “hootchie” fishing lure on the top of the radio antenna. I’m definitely a threat to the peace and order of the State.

And if the answer to that is “Quite a few”, then this has to of real concern to them, too, as it equally tars their views and their decisions to indicate those views by bumper stickers or other actions.

I saw this on Gateway Pundit, I think, last week and was shocked at my own lack of surprise. What’s with Missouri anyway? During the last part of the campaign it was Missouri’s AG and others who were yakking about going after anyone saying anything negative about Obama and Co. They were intending on labeling it hate speech, weren’t they? And prosecuting to boot.

Do the idiots that come up with this advisory bull-crap have any knowledge of American History? Obviously NOT! Would this advisory apply to anyone in the US Navy or US Marine Corp?

I guess profiling conservatives is OK, then. At least in MO – maybe coming to a state near you.

There has been a lot of references to the US becoming a Banana Republic lately. Three characteristics that will give us full memebership in the club: 1) Politicians elected via personality-cult status, 2) Nationalization of private assets, and 3) Censorship. We are two thirds there already. Does self-censorship count? Should we really have to think twice about stating our political & cultural beliefs because of the threat of harassment by the authorities?

Remember during the election when the AG and several law enforcement chiefs in Missouri threatened to use the full force of the law to prosecute people who said things they objected to about Zero?

It is true that I disagree with a majority of right of center bumper stickers and find them to be quite obnoxious. But I think the Missouri State Police being alerted to be on the lookout for subversive drivers who have bumper stickers that suggest they “may be domestic terrorists or members of militia groups,” is an infringement on our Civil Liberties as Americans. In America one of our Civil Liberties is freedom of speech, which includes freedom of expression, which would include bumper stickers. The International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR) recognizes the right to freedom of speech as “the right to hold opinions without interference. Everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression”. I find the actions that the Missouri State Police are taking would qualify as “interference”. Though there are limitations on our freedom of speech, as an example the use of “Hate Speech”, but the above listed bumper stickers do not fit into that category.
