Well, thanks for giving me a chance and not blamming me!

Looks like my blog entries were deleted by the powers that be. I guess this will be my last posting. I came here to discuss ideas and conserns. I met a few folks I think I could be friends with. It would have been a good experience, but evidently I broke someone's rules. I'm sure this won't stay up long either. Thanks guys for spending some time with me (if you even get to read this).
Bye,
John Wayne
As for being a shill, call me what you will, I'm sure this will be deleted soon too. It doesn't matter. I don't think you understand just how frustrated many of us are. So you think that every one who has legitimate concerns and hasn't got the same answer as you is a shill? Why does this site even have a blog? WE are all suppose to just agree? My only hope for the future is that I know that any system that does not work has to be replaced with something better. It just may take a long time. Things may have to get worse before enough people will finally make things better. I don't even know why I'm wasting my time typing this...it won't be here long. As for being me being a shill...I had the best time last election posting on Kerry's blog. I made myself out to be a gay veteran and got away with posting some of the most outlandish stuff about Kerry on his official blog. One line was something to the effect about his getting a purple heart for being shot in the ass. It stayed up for quite a long time. I was proud to have cause a bit of havoc on his website. Anyhow, you just have youself a great time and and keep being arrogant and condescending to new bloggers. Make sure you keep calling them shills...that is really effective. I'm sure that soon there will be absolutely no opposition to 'the party line' around here.
John Wayne
McCain was not my top choice. He is who we are left with though. In politics you have choices. You can argue your choices, but expect that someone will argue with you. If you would take the time to read the archives you would see that there is anything but a "party line". There are dozens of hotly debated posts about Senator McCain just this week.
And what would you call it when you say that we should vote for Obama. That is shilling. You can have whatever theory you want associated with it, but it is explicitly not the intent of this site to try and elect non-Republicans.
BTW, the moderators very rarely outright delete a post. It is usually amended or edited, but left up as a warning, kind of like the head on a poll, to anyone else that may commit said offense.

Of course I'm from Athens and we really do live by the "think global, act local" idea. I hope you'll keep planting trees and thinking about smart land investments.

I guess it is inevitable that someone, somewhere will have a goodbye cruel world post and our friend the rabbit will come back out!
Freedom of Religion not Freedom from Religion
I guess you folks take great pride in telling someone who has voted straight Republican since 1980 that he is not a republican. Have fun. I know what my voter card says. I know what my record is. I don't have to prove a damn thing to you. I have and continue to serve my country proudly. I put my money where my mouth is. I may be heading to Iraq early next year if I can get all my training done at age 47. I find it a terrible insult to be called a democrat. So Shove it! Maybe my principles run a little deeper than yours. Maybe I have a real problem with our candidate. Maybe I don't see a whole lot of difference between many of McCain's policies and the Dems. I just got done reading an article on the Heritage Foundations site that was a real horror story on what this stupid cap and trade of CO2 will cost us..let me tell you, a whole lot! McCain supports that crap! Maybe I'm mad as hell because the party got it wrong. We had much better candidates than what we're stuck with. This is an anonomous blog, so no one really knows who anyone is. I did shill on the Kerry site. I Am A REPUBLICAN and that is why it was shilling if that is even the word for the fun I had at his expense. For all I know, simpson316 is an Obama or Ralph Nader supporter. For all I know, you all may be. So if you want to question what party I belong to, I'll never be able to prove it to you. I could stick my voter card in your face and it wouldn't matter. Can you tell that I am pissed off? I have not seen such arrogance in a long time. Not since I lived in Seattle and had to deal with the leftists that ran that place. So, be comforted in knowing that you definitely have many of the leftist I know beat in the area of arrogance. I know this post won't last, so have fun reading this.
For jonlester: thanks for being one of the few people on this blog space that was actually deacent to me. I hope you get to see those trees in Watkinsville, they look pretty big. I also thank anyone else that acted kindly and engaged me in more than juvenile name calling.
John Wayne
And by the way Who called you names?
n/t
Let's see ...shill, putz, I think it was mostly simpson316...guess 316 is in reference to John 3:16 in the Bible??? "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" .Simpson you are such a great example of a Christian, and republican for that matter (can you hear my sarcasm?, I hope so). Just love people who wear their religion on their sleve. So superior. I'm sure your cars sports a nice little plastic Jesus fish to let everyone know that you are a believer. As for my issues with McCain, they are real. I honestly don't think I could bring myself to vote for a Democrat with the exception of Zel Miller. He was about the last of the decent Democrats. Don't know that I can bring myself to vote for McCain either. My only hope was that somehow pressure from conservatives could get him to change that 20% or so that I find so distastful.
John Wayne
Damn right I'm angry. Libs also breeth, are you breething? Are you a Lib? See, there are the names again. I was expecting a bit better from this site. I was hoping to have a rational discussion here. Was hoping to get other ideas on how maybe McCain could be made to see the light on a few issues. Maybe what you folks think can be done about some of the things I find troubling. I have a hard time not getting angry with people like simpson. I really find arrogance distasteful! I can leave this site and never come back. My life will go on. But my overall impression of some of my fellow Republicans will not be the same. I have never seen a forum where this kind of B.S. takes place. Some of you folks outta take a good look at yourselves. One of the things I like least about the Liberals is their childishness and arrogance. They think they are alway right, that theirs is the only solution. They have closed minds. I have found about the same thing here from quite a few people.
John Wayne
but you have to calm down...OK
How do I get there?
John Wayne
It is actually a carryover from my college days. I was a big professional wrestling fan. The WWF (before those eco-nazis went to war over the name and made them change it to the WWE) had a character by the name of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He had a catch phrase: "Austin 3:16 - Becuase Stone Cold Said So!" I picked it up back then as a fanboy and have been too lazy over the last decadish to bother coming up with a new nick name.
[In the next incarnation of RedState to launch soon, my screen name will be replaced with my real name: Brian Simpson. The program will allow you to put your real name in, but still use the account from here.]
So, nope. Not religious at all. Unless you consider professional wrestling a religion.

Stone Cold was, previously, a wrestler who had the gimmick of "The Ringmaster". An absolutely perfect technical wrestler.
Well, they decided to go "edgy" with him.
His manager, at the time, was Ted DiBiase (The Million Dollar Man) who was a devout Born-Again Christian.
When Steve Austin broke off with Ted DiBiase, he said, quite famously "You've got your John 3:16... well, Austin 3:16 says 'I just kicked your @$$!'"
This kicked off the so-called "Attitude Era" in the WWF.
For the record.

You were in the military, right? Well, you just got put through boot camp. A troll or moby would have washed out by now. If you're still here, read the RedState FAQ and the related blogs for newbies.
You big mistake was blogging before you got the lay of the land. The treatment you received was mild compared to some of the Red on Red that goes on in the various candidate blogs. Some of us Beetle Baileys rarely get down in those trenches, preferring to snipe at targets of opportunity and have a little fun. If you're serious, go back to lurking for awhile before you throw in your 2 cents.
Two things if you choose to comment:

Yea, I'm still here. I'm not a quitter. I'll take your advise. I do have a bit of a temper. Sometimes it is little things that set me off. Did read an intersting piece from Peggy Noonan this morning. In case you missed it:

Nowhere in that article does anyone advocate abandoning ship, as your little (now deleted) screed did. Take note of Steve Foley's nicely-written blog this morning on Noonan's article and take a hint of what the better course of action is. Hint: it ain't voting for the Obamination.

I have indeed calmed down since last night. I hav really been in an agrivated state the past few weeks. There are a lot of things going on in the counrty that I see as major problems. The bissgest is our energy costs and the fact that so many people do not see the gathering security threats we face. I had an idea that hopefully someone with resources shares. That idea is some sort of 527 group that will boldly point the finger at the Democrat party for our increasing energy costs. The Dems seem to get away with pointng the finger at others in these situations. Imgoff has it right...if we had drilled in ANWR 10 years ago, that oil would be on line now and our country wouldn't be facing the challenges of rising fuel costs. This whoule issue could be laid at the feet of the Democrats. Theis solution is to raise taxes on the oil companies...yeah that will work! I'm all for alternative energy sources and new technologies, but they are not economically viable yet. As for security, if we end up with a situation next year that emboldens Iran, they might feel like they can take on Israel without us getting involved. They may be right if the wrong person gets elected to be president. A war in which Israel's survival is in jeopardy could cause the complete destruction of the middle east. Larger, mor powerful countries could join the fray (China, Russia, the US). Those are my biggest worries at the moment. Just seems like too many Americans don't know what is going on and what's at stake. This blog is providing me a bit of much needed therapy. I feel better just getting this stuff out of my head, and reading other's thoughts on issues. Thanks

Sorry about typos...my keyboard is old and some keys are flakey. I'm really not a bad speller...maybe not great, but not bad.
John Wayne
We usually only slam trolls for that. Bad spelling is one of their tells. That's how you lit up my radar...well, that and the "I'm leaving the Republican Party" thing. Bygones.
Welcome to RedState
Obama's on the tube running his mouth...what in the world was I thinking...there is no way I could ever vote for him. If he gets elected, it won't be because of anything I did.
Loved Bush's "appeasement" comments. Looks like it really hit the mark. Really riled up the Democrats. It is always the truth that causes them to get upset...very funny to watch.
John Wayne
1. You can think of me calling you a shill as bad thing if you want, but it is what you did in that post.
2. Good to see that you realize that an election of Obama would be an even bigger detriment to the Conservative movement(and the country) than McCain could ever be.
3. Every "goodbye cruel world" post draws the above picture. It is standard mocking.
4. Get to know me. I'm sure we have way more in common than you think. I was a Fred Thompson supporter in the primaries because of his principled stand for a full Conservative coalition. I am through and through conservative. I believe that the nomination of McCain (as well as if Rudy would have been the nominee) is not the best choice for the movement, but it just may be the right move for the party.
5. Grow a really thick skin. Shill, putz, etc are some of the nicer things that one can get called in the blogging world. You are certain to have a few more knock-down, drag-outs while you are here at RS (yup, I could be one of them in the future), but if you stand your ground and continue to fight for your beliefs you will earn a lot of respect around here.
6. Welcome. It is always good to have more warm bodies around here. [I'm not sure speciallist qualifies for this category. ;) ]

Finally found it and put a post on there for you...
I will try to develop a thicker skin.
Was not so much shilling but showing my frustration level.
This election season has been the weirdest, most trying I've ever seen. I just want this country to come to its senses. I have 5 kids and a granddaughter...I want them all to have a good future in the USA. Went a little berzerk. I knew good and well I really never could bring my self to vote democrat...only exception is I really do like old Zel Miller, I could vote for Zel...he lives about 10 miles from my mom. Probably the last of any democrats I would consider a good guy. I think there actually used to be a lot more of them. Never like their slant towards socialism, but many were hawkish and did care about national security as much as Republicans do. Copuldn't vote for him, but Lieberman seems like a fairly good guy...just a bit on the left side. He is the only active one I think is half way good, most are marxists in their new progressive clothes (I think they still wear liberal underware).

Just wanted to try this out

but it might have to do with your blog shilling for the Democrat while this is a Republican and Conservative site.
