Presidents of the United States do not give “shout-outs”.

They especially don’t give “shout-outs” to Medal of Honor recipients.

And they really especially don’t give “shout-outs” right before blithely, oh-by-the-way tossing off insincere nods of sympathy toward the murder of 12 American soldiers.

This filthy, trashy, horrendous pig.

and the surrounding communities of Killeen, Belton, and Temple are all loaded with people with close ties directly or indirectly to Fort Hood. Temple also has Scott and White hospital, which looks like a small city itself. It has 10 of the victims.

This isn’t like some bases that are out in the middle of nowhere (my son’s at Fort Polk for example) – there should be plenty of community support structure. Just to give one example I saw on the local (Austin) news last night, Scott and White put out a call for people to donate blood. People flocked there and before the night was out they ended up turning away hundreds of people who came because they couldn’t handle any more. They are taking blood again today and there is a 30-45 minute wait at the moment, so they must again be loaded with people.

because all his political career it’s always been all about him. An incident like the Fort Hood massacre just does not fit that self promotion template he’s always engaged in. If it ever does come out that he had to ask is staff “how should I respond to this?” I for one would not be shocked.

It’s just par for the course, and it’a a shame.

goes to be with the families today. I just start to cry every time I think about it.

Does the military send people out to help the families like take of things like transportation, motels and food family members of patients and so forth? I know here the military provides hotels and transportation for mothers if they have a child in the hospital like if they are visiting from out of town like if the child or spouse ends of in the hospital. I can’t imagine what people would do without money to have a place to stay while visiting their injured family member there in TX.

But somehow I doubt they’d do it, knowing full well that the outrage on the other side would be full scale howling crazy. On the other hand, by 2012, who knows how many other examples of this kind of sociopathic narcissism will be on vido?

Even if he made the mistake of waiting that long to say anything, he could have said something like “I know a lot of people worked very hard on this conference and I will thank them personally later because I want to talk about what happened today at Fort Hood….”

Maybe he’ll just throw the TelePromTer people under the bus.

led me to the NBC blog and an article written by Robert George. He was appalled at Obama’s behavior. Before he got through, however, he was blaming the people around Obama more than Obama himself.

As you pointed out, why would the POTUS have to rely on “his people” to tell him what to say about an event such as this? It seems that the only time he can speak from the heart is when it’s something involving Barrack Hussein Obama directly. And Lord knows, this kind of tragedy takes the attention away from him. What a disgusting man.

Please watch it. The nation awaited from the Commander-in-Chief of our military forces respectful words in memory of massacred soldiers and words of hope and encouragement for the wounded soldiers clinging to life. The nation awaited some words of reassurance relating to whether this was, indeed, a terrorist attack from within the ranks by a follower or followers of the "Religion of [Not] Peace." Seriously, the “Sovereignty” activists were big Comrade Obama supporters and they expect much from him. Chatting up an important Democrat constituency is far more important than a bunch of soldiers getting shot.

People in states with substantial Indian populations should be very afraid. He’s stopping off here in Alaska to meet with some of our Indian activists – who also just happen to be Democrat activists. It’ll be interesting to see if He deigns to meet with anybody who actually has any real power here since they’re all Republicans. My money is His “appearance” is invitation only and behind those very secure gates at Elmendorf AFB.

IMO, Obama has a clinical detachment toward people. He does not emotionally engage. Was watching FOX when he spoke and normally would have turned it off, but cared more about the Ft. Hood tragedy than my aversion to watching The WON. Have to say, I was shocked at first because I thought they had the wrong footage going. Also noted that the audience responded to his quips and laughter in kind.

And then to see him speak from prepared text to a National tragedy was unbelievable. Does he have no ability to speak spontaneously? When one feels emotions, one usually can speak from the heart.
