I don't think that they'll be going anywhere anytime soon, much to Iran's dismay. It's more an issue of keeping it's civilians safe and preventing the spread of terrorism than upholding its government. They've shown that they can hold their own quite handily. It'll come in handy if, thanks to the Dems, it finds itself alone. Israel has such a strong national defense. I don’t think that they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon, much to Iran’s dismay. (Of course, it is also possible that the Israeli government, which has shown much weakness since the incapacitation of Sharon and prior to Sharon's arrival in power for that matter, will simply get weak in the knees.) I support continued strong - indeed, stronger - U.S. support for Israel, but the opposite might work out in the end.
