In some cases, there would be buyouts; some companies would grow while the others would be swallowed up.  Some companies would simply fold.  Would this be a crisis?  I know &lt;em&gt;I&lt;/em&gt; wouldn&#039;t lose any money.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The truth is, if this was, indeed, a market-created problem, I&#039;d be all for letting nature run its course, Gekko-style.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;But it isn&#039;t.  This problem is hand-crafted by the Federal Government.  It is now our sad duty to pick up the pieces.  &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However, knowing the root of the problem also gives us the chance -- and responsibility -- to demand change.  If the housing system were as unregulated as it should be, we wouldn&#039;t be here.&lt;/p&gt;
