Double Standard ?

Does anyone remember November 2000? The Democrats were very angry that George Bush had won the election. He was accused of stealing the office, and I am sure many still think so, but that is neither here nor there. It’s over. And, I am so sure that the Democrats did everything honest and above board in that election. They would never do anything dishonest. (sarcasm intended ) Winning the 2000 election was bad, but to win again in 2004 was unbearable. Bush spent the next 8 years trying to avoid the gun fire coming at him. No, not from the terrorists but the Democrats. They were so intent on bringing Bush down and his administration, that I wonder how they managed to get any work done for the American people. If any thing did go right they took the credit for it. They did not even try to be bi-partisan.

What happened when a Republican got caught being corrupt or immoral? They were either run out of office or pushed out. It not only made the daily news, but went on for weeks. It was big time on TV, in magazines, and on the late night comedy shows, along with the Bush bashing that was non stop. I am not saying that Republicans are not corrupt, many are. But let one man in the Republican Party do something wrong, and the entire party got blamed. The democrats dirt got covered up or down played, and they are still doing it.

What were the Democrats doing during the 8 years they were trying to destroy Bush, besides dividing the nation over the war in Iraq and also embolden our enemies. My theory is they were trying to tear this country down and ruin the economy so they could blame it on the Bush Administration. Then they could say, he got us into this mess and we will get you out of it. Who got us into the mess with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae? Who forced the financial institutions to lend money to people that they knew would not be able to pay back their loans? Who was getting paybacks from these institutions? There were also other schemes to bring him down. They had to find the perfect hero riding in on a white horse to save the day and send the cowboy back to Texas. 

Well they found their hero and anointed him. The MSM and The DNC loved him as much as they detested Bush. It was a two year love affair; and still is. No one dared to say anything bad about him; if they did they were called racist. The MSM allowed him the honor of no questions, and he had no resume. In other words he got a free pass, and he had the backing of power brokers, who were also rich. I believe Obama was groomed for this job and the White House was bought for him. (650+ million.) It was bought by Anti-American, Radical Socialists who’s goal is a “One-World-Government” controlled by the UN. Now let us bring in his associates. Need I say more! Not really, but I will. He is surrounded by the thugs from the corrupt Chicago machine, and other corrupt people.

What are Pelosi and Reid saying? Nothing! The Democrats wanted back in power so badly that they sold their soul to the Devil in order to get it. The man they got cannot even give a speech unless he has a teleprompter with the words written out for him. He is only following orders. Is this what we want or need? A lot of questions need to be asked about the direction our country is headed. Do we want Socialism or a Dictatorship, or do we want to be free? Does our Constitution mean any thing to us any more?  If so then go and read it. The people elect leaders to work for them and to keep them safe from their enemies, and keep them free to pursue their own happiness. It should not be the other way around.

The Democrats feel as though they are above the law and can do as they please, but the same rule does not apply to Republicans. Both parties need to be held accountable, and “We the People” need to start demanding it!

And now the bombshell:  Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize, and what has he done to deserve it! Is it for keeping our country safe and strong, and having a good foreign policy, or is he being rewarded for selling out this great nation, and turning it over to our enemies?

The Progressive Profile.

The progressives came out of the populist movement in the 1800’s and adopted many of their ideas. The people who made up this group were from the higher classes, and the rich who had inherited wealth. It was said back then that the populists “shaved its whiskers, washed its shirt, put on a derby, and moved to the upper class. These people had an almost compulsive desire for total power and it ran through all their rhetoric. Some progressives even set themselves apart from the crowd. Woodrow Wilson believed that the government should only be run by educated elite.

The Progressive Party was organized in 1912 as a result of the split in the Republican Party between the conservatives that believed more in the individual rights of people and self determination, and the more liberal, or progressive members of the party who believed in more government control. This rift was brought about by the old hard line leaders that believed in controlling the convention party machine in nominating Taft for President instead of Roosevelt. Roosevelt left The GOP and ran on his new progressive (Bull Moose) ticket. This party was similar to the insurgent group in congress during the Roosevelt and Taft administrations. This rift in the party enabled a Democrat to win the office in 1913 (Woodrow Wilson). In 1916 the Progressive Party rapidly disintegrated and most members returned to the Republican Party.

But it did not end there. The progressives have had their foot in the door since it began, and it has morphed into the Democratic Party that has become more liberal over time. They claim that they are the party of the people, the very poor and the working poor. But I do not believe this to be the case, simply because they believe in big government which has total control of the means of production, and financial systems. The powers in government believe they know what the needs of the people are more then the people do. To me this is socialism. The Democrats say they are liberal, and this is true, but it goes beyond that. Hillary Clinton made the statement calling herself a “new progressive”. There is no such thing as a new progressive, it is the same old thing wrapped into a new package. Obama calls him self a liberal Democrat, but in fact he is a socialist under the banner of the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party is a misnomer. Put progressives and socialists in the same room and you have the new Socialist Party of America.

Socialism does not give the people the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It puts a new meaning on the Constitution of the United States of America. This is a power grab, and it is this lust for power that will destroy this country. You cannot take all the money that people make and spread it around evenly. This makes everyone poor, and the government rich and powerful.

Socialism has never worked and it never will!

There is so much political news going on that I decided to post a story that gets away from politics, and talks about life and faith.

“A Mother’s Prayer”

I would like to tell you a story, but first I need to give you some background. My mother struggled during the 30’s and 40’s to take care of my three brothers and me after our father was killed. She worked hard to keep us together and fed. She always had a smile on her face but sometimes at night when I was in bed, I would hear her crying and asking God to help us. She managed to take care of our needs, and although we were poor we did not feel poor, there was only a feeling of happiness. Our mother not only took care of our physical needs, she also taught us many things about the world and life, and she gave us something that money cannot buy; love…..Unconditional love.

When I was seven I became ill at school and was crying. The teacher spanked me on my bottom and told me to go out side and play with the other children. My brother who was a little older told the teacher she could not hit his little sister. He took me by my hand and took me out of the school and walked home with me. Our mother was at a lady’s home not far away but by then I was too weak to walk. He picked me up and carried me the rest of the way. The lady that my mother was working for put me and my mother into her car and took me to a hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. At first the doctors did not know what was wrong but they did pack me in ice to bring my fever down, and I had lapsed into a coma. They later tapped my spine to get rid of excess fluid. The doctor told my mother that I would most likely not live through the night and only a miracle could save me. My mother knelt by my bed and started praying for God to spare my life, finally in exhaustion she fell against the bed and said “God you gave me my little girl and if you want her back I will give her to you freely, but I only have one request, please save her soul.” It was at that instant that I came out of my coma, set up in the bed and said, “Mommy I am hungry. The doctor came in later and stood there for a few moments looking at me then turned and looked into my mother’s eyes and said, “You got your miracle.” Then he slowly walked out of the room. I walked out of the hospital eight days later holding on to my mother’s hand. I was weak and walked with a slight limp. But, I walked.

Now I had believed there was a God in Heaven since I was old enough to understand the concept, because my step-father always read from the Bible every day after supper. (He came into our lives when I was six.) But my image of God was an old white haired man sitting on a throne watching over his people and the ones who were bad and sinned would go to hell, which was a very bad place, and I always tried to be a good little girl. It was not until I was in my early thirties that I started learning about the love of Christ, who God sent to earth to show man the way to Him, and salvation.

One day I was standing in my kitchen ironing and crying over an event that had taken place and I was very hurt and unhappy. I sit down the iron and looked up crying and said, “God if you are who you say you are, and Christ is who He says He is, then reach out and help me.” I suddenly felt a cold chill run through my body and it felt like every hair on my body was standing straight up. I also felt a presence standing next to me. I looked all around and no one was there. God had reached out His hand, and I took it. I asked Christ to come into my life and save me. Did my life suddenly change with me becoming happy and glorious? No. As a matter of fact it got worse for quite some time. It was though someone was turning my world up side down. I sometimes felt like I was being tested, but I did not let go of God’s out stretched hand. As time passed by I became stronger in my faith and strength.

God never promised us an easy life, but he did promise to be with us and give us strength through the rough times. I remembered two events that took place in my late twenties before I had asked for Christ to come into my life. No one prayed for me then, but God was watching over me and keeping me safe because he was honoring my mother’s request to save my soul when I was seven years old. I may have more heartbreak and pain before my life is over, but I will never let go of God’s out stretched hand. He will walk beside me and if I am too weak to walk he will carry me. God gives me unconditional love, and is my life, without Him I would be nothing.

“The Wilderness”

I have always liked the story in the Bible about Moses leading his people out of bondage with God’s promise that he would lead them into a promised land that was flowing with milk and honey and it would be theirs for the taking. The people grumbled and complained along their journey saying that it was better in Egypt, even if they were in bondage, because they missed the food and other things. Moses was trying to lead a bunch of hard headed and stubborn people. Moses obeyed God and took them to the place where they were to enter the Promised Land.

This story began a long time before this when there was a drought in the land, and the Israelites were invited into Egypt by Joseph, an Israelite, who had found favor in the eyes of the Pharaoh that ruled Egypt. In later years a new dynasty had arisen with a new Pharaoh that had no ties with Joseph and the Israelites. The new ruler feared the Israelites because they had grown in number and he wanted to bring them under control. He did this by placing them in bondage and making them slaves. In time the people cried out to their God to deliver them from the heavy burden they were under, and Moses was chosen by God to lead them out of Egypt into a land he would give them. As I stated before, the people grumbled and complained along the way, then was denied access to the Promised Land because of their unbelief, and forced them to wander in the wilderness for forty years.

By now you are probably saying, what has that got to do with us now?

Through out history many people have been held under bondage by different groups and rulers, and there have been many wars fought in the name of freedom, or religion. Our own country was founded by people who were trying to escape tyranny and oppression. Many people in Europe were feeling the bondage they were under in their own countries and set out on a long arduous trek to a new land were they thought they could be free. They were looking for their own promised land. People came from many different nationalities, views, and beliefs and formed groups here of their own kind, but they soon learned they were still under control of their mother countries. The people then banded together to fight off their bondage and the chains that held them. They ended up fighting a war for that independence and freedom. Our founding fathers gathered together and gave us the Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights, and the Constitution to protect those rights and freedoms, and we became the United States of America. This country has had its share of conflicts, and we fought a Civil War for the rights of people. But despite these conflicts we grew and prospered as a nation.

Now there is a group of people that has arose and have taken control of our country and we have a new ruler, who does not know or care about our founding fathers and what they stood for, and the rights and freedoms that the people had fought for. The new rulers fear a powerful people and freedom, because they want to have total control of the country and its people. This is a need that comes from greed and a thirst for power and they will proceed to put the people under bondage again, and make slaves of them.

How long will it be before people cry out to God to help them, and to deliver them from their bondage? Will there be a leader that can arise and deliver the people, or will God not have mercy on us this time, and we will be doomed to wander in a wilderness of our own making.

Socialism is an economic and social system based on collective social ownership of the means of production, rational planning of economic investment and growth, roughly equal distribution of goods, and services, and production of goods, and services, and production for the satisfaction of human need rather than for private profit. Modern socialism dates from the teachings of the French socialists of the early nineteenth century, but the leading socialist philosopher is the German, Karl Marx.

Marx believed in revolution to over throw the capitalists, and replace it with a system that did not make profit in the market place, but a system where production was for the satisfaction of human needs. Profitability would no longer be permitted to govern decisions. Under socialism the ruling slogan would be “from each according to his ability; to each according to his work.” Now this collective ownership of the means of production for use rather than for profit, distribution for need rather than for the ability to pay; with these changes, socialism would eliminate the irrationality of capitalism. And, of course the government would control all of this.

I believe Marx has been proven to be wrong, because many nations have been trying to turn away from socialism. The terrorists are a different story, but they benefit from socialism. They take advantage of the discord and chaos. History has proven that socialism does not work.

People came to this country to be free and to follow their own dreams and it was capitalism that gave the people the incentives to work hard and to advance their own lives by keeping the fruits of their labor. We will always have poor people among us, some cannot help their circumstances, some are just lazy, and some are just bad people who choose to be criminals. We are a generous nation and we have organizations to help those that are really needy and cannot help themselves, but we give it with a cheerful heart. Our Constitution gives us the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Also capitalism gives people jobs, and many set up foundations to give to charity. We cannot destroy capitalism and expect to survive.

Our country is hanging in the balance and conservatives need to keep up the work of getting the word out, and fighting for our freedom of speech, and rights, before everything is taken away.

A Liberal’s Definition….then and now….According to Webster’s dictionary, liberalism is giving freely, giving more than necessary or usual, and enlarging the mind, not subject to common prejudices or conventions, favorable to individual liberty, social reform and removal of economic restraints, admitting a free interpretation of religious doctrines and of its application to ritual and conduct. Liberalism is a political philosophy that is progressive rather than conservative. This leads us to liberalism which is a body of social, political, religious or economic doctrines or attitudes which are liberal…

In the beginning liberalism was for the commercial or individual classes, favoring free trade and fixing of wages and prices by competition, and opposed state intervention. It started changing in the late 19^th century in Britain. States where allowed to intervene in a limited way to allow for social services for the needy. Liberalism was critical of institutions that restricted individual liberty whether political or religious and placed its faith in man’s goodness and rationality

Economic liberalism has its roots in the laissez-faire doctrines of Adam Smith and others. But now liberalism has adopted the teaching of Carl Marx, who along with Engels published the “Communist Manifesto (1848) in which he promoted international socialism. But this can only be achieved by overthrowing the capitalist system by the dictatorship of the proliterariat and obtain a classless society.

How can this be achieved? By big government controlling our lives and making laws to benefit all. I do not think so! They want to lead us down a happy primrose path that leads to a utopian paradise where everyone lives in peace and happiness. It will never happen! You cannot legislate people’s morality. You cannot change people’s principles and values by legislation. We will always have the poor among us, and we have organization’s to help them, and people also give freely when not forced. We will always have the low life and criminals among us. You cannot change the human heart through legislation, but you can kill the human spirit by taking away rights and freedoms

Let us stop right here.

What happened…..where are we today?

What does the new Democratic Social Party believe? Do liberals have an open mind when it comes to freedom of speech which is guaranteed by our constitution? It seems to me it is shut up and sit down, or be run out of town. Look what liberals are doing to Rush Limbaugh’s right to free speech. Look at what the liberals did to Joe the Plumber when he just asked a simple question. Look what the liberals and the MSM did to Sarah Palin when she exercised her right to free speech, and many others. Do you get the feeling that the liberals are the only ones with the right to free speech?

We are looking into the face of a monster that will destroy everything this country has stood for since its founding. Our constitution is being changed to fit a socialist agenda and powers grab to control the very heart of the American people. We just cannot let this happen.

And, I want to add that under a Socialist Regime there will be no Democrats, no Republicans, and no Independents. It will be the big government that makes the rules. Party Identification means nothing to them; it is just a means to an end. Divide and Conquer.

Socialism will destroy us all!

“When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross”…Sinclair Lewis. I do not know what this man was drinking at the time, but this is a false statement. It has been stated frequently on another blog. Think about the following statements!

This country was founded on the belief in God, and in the rights and freedoms of all people. We were also given the freedom of speech and religion. We were given the Constitution and the Bill of Rights (in writing and made into law) to safe guard those rights and freedoms. We were guaranteed this freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. “In God We Trust” was engraved on public buildings in Washington, DC, and also on our money. Our American Flag and the Eagle were symbols of these freedoms. Is this fascism? Take the time to read our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and then make your decision if you believe in these laws.

Fascism or anything else you would like to call it, Socialism, Marxism, or Communism, it is all the same. And how does it come? Not by waving flags or clinging to a Bible. It sneaks in, in the dark of night clad in silken slippers, and so quiet no one hears it. It starts out slowly and eats away at the core of everything this country stands for.

Are the people attending and standing up at the Tea Parties and waving the American Flag, demanding that the government protect our rights as Americans, being un-American? I do not think so. We do not want our government intruding on our rights and freedoms. We do not want Cap and Trade that will bankrupt this country, we do not want higher taxes, we do not want government to take over our healthcare that will lead to poor quality care and rationing. Older people who have worked their entire lives and paid into social security will have their social security benefits cut, (mine has already been cut) and health care will be rationed. They will not be given good care when they need it the most. Is this how the elderly people will be treated since they will no longer be considered an asset to the government, but a burden? But yet, illegals will be given free heath care that will be paid for by the American tax payer.

Many of us are just patriotic Americans that love our country. We do not want socialism; or any other (ism) We are fighting to keep our freedoms, and do not want our rights and freedoms taken away and end up living under tyranny. If people do not like what America stands for, they can emigrate to North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, or another country that has a Dictatorship, that might be more to their liking. They will control their life and tell them what they can or cannot do, from cradle to the grave.

I am not a Republican, Democrat, Independent, or any thing else. My being an American comes first and I love the country I grew up in.
