A trap we often walk into is allowing the left to define and pervert the meanings of our words. The “wanting them to fail” statement is a great example. Let me explain…
“Wanting them to fail” is in regards to transforming the country into a social democracy and replacing the rule of law with the rule of men. We understand that if these changes take place, individual liberty will be a thing of the past and the opportunities for all that are the result of free people making their own decisions will be severely reduced. What leads us to believe that these will be the real consequences? The repeated historical application in countries throughout the world. It’s not an unproved theory of what we *think* will happen, it is a virtual certainty backed up by solid evidence.
The liberals have a tendency to ignore and excuse evidence of practical results of the policies they espouse, and redefine what exactly it is that we say we “want to fail”. They genuinely believe that the transformation they desire for the country will bring all the positive results, and none of the unintended consequences. They attribute our “wanting them to fail” to the positive results they claim will come.
Who can argue that the claims of what their policies will bring would not be desired, if it were actually possible? Cheap healthcare for everyone, more wealth for those who are lacking, our enemies becoming our friends, and so on. These would be great outcomes, unfortunately we know that none of them will be realized through the changes the liberals desire.
But this is where the liberals become opportunistic. They aggressively persuade that the positive intended outcomes are inevitable if only we allow the change, and then state that those opposed are against the ends rather than the means.
We can’t just let this stuff slide. It is important that we spend the time and energy to articulate the reality, rather than let the left turn our own words against us.

JadedByPolitics (Diary) Saturday, October 3rd at 10:45PM EST (link)lemming Democrats DEFINE who WE are….EVER!!!!
When I think back to McCain’s campaign and how he would NOT define Obama as the leftist he was I couldn’t believe the Republican Party WUSSED out on such a defining election. McCain and his sycophants knew that this idiot would leave our troops STRANDED fighting for something less then VICTORY and still they refused to FIGHT. They knew that they would grow the government and place our children and grandchildren in debt and still they refused to FIGHT. They were pitiful and I despise each and every person that worked on that campaign right up to the man at the top for not FIGHTING for We The People.
These tools would have 56% of the American population defined as racists instead of accepting that Obamacare is not wanted by a majority and their leftist media buddies helped them to try to frame We The People that way and they were slaughtered for it. That is the exact way we MUST fight them at every turn. NEVER let them EVER define Conservatism and Patriotism EVER again!

Why didn't McCain and his moderate coterie define his leftist adversary as a leftist?
ColdWarrior (Diary) Saturday, October 3rd at 11:45PM EST (link)Because the status quo was this:
Conservatives were absent from the Party. What did McCain and his moderates have to fear?
Fifty per cent of the precinct committeeman slots nationwide were EMPTY.
The half that were filled were split 50-50 between moderates and conservatives. Conservatives are too “high and mighty,” apparently, to soil themselves in the trenches of grass roots party politics. So, what did McCain and his merry band of moderates have to FEAR?
In McCain’s home state of AZ, the state that produced Barry Goldwater, that most Americans think of as a bastion of conservative, things were even better for the McCain moderates — in his home county of Maricopa, the same 50-50 split existed between moderates and conservatives, but there was even LESS participation by conservatives. Only a third of the PC slots were filled. And of the 1989 filled slots, only 800 bothered to show up in January of this year for the county GOP convention. Pathetic.
The moderates laugh at us. They see us as being all bark and no bite. Want to bite the moderates? Become a precinct committeeman.
It’s that simple.
Thank you.
