Politico.com has an article about how the republicans helped the democrats cover themselves on the ‘doc fix’ instead of letting them reap what they sowed with obamacare:

That p.o.s. Grassley helped work this out. Why didn’t we primary his backside out in June? As I understand it, he had no challenge. Why? An answer would be greatly appreciated.

He is basically unbeatable in Iowa. Iowa politics are funny and there is little chance that anyone right of Grassley would win. Does that mean he shouldn’t be challenged? No. If Branstad can get back into the Governor’s office, there is a chance.

i’m leery about posting pieces out of an article; it can look like cherry-picking and that’s not a charge I want to open myself to.

Thankfully, though not the best post, i did get a good response from squirrel. I’ll remember your advice for next time.
