Ohio’s 2nd House District is rightly known as one of the most conservative districts in Ohio, and there’s a six-way primary for the Republican nomination.
The 2nd House District seat is being vacated by Kris Jordan, who is running against Thom Collier for the 19th Senate District seat. Whoever wins the primary on May 4 will face some guy named… Dick Bird.
Yeah…
Anyway, there are six candidates running to replace Kris Jordan. They are:
Andrew Brenner, Beth Lear, Jeff Mayle, Mark Phillips, Traci Saliba, and Craig Schweitzer.
While all of them are good Republicans and have their own talents and experience to bring to the table, in my mind, one of them seems like he would be the best servant of Delaware County’s interests.
Enter Craig “Mister Mulch” Schweitzer.
Schweitzer is both fiscally and socially conservative, which I think is important. He wants to fight for a more ethical, streamlined, and moral government, and will fight to defend the Constitution, from “from the First Amendment to the last Amendment.” This is exactly what our representatives should be doing!
In 1995, Craig started a small landscaping business that grew over the years, until it became one of the dominant companies in the region and market. He’s had to deal with the frustrations of and jump through the hoops of government regulations, and successfully navigated the red-tape, and now he’s in a position where he can make economic success easier for future entrepreneurs.
In our down economy, isn’t that exactly what we need? Someone who’s had to deal with the in’s-and-out’s of fiscal responsibility… actually had to sign off on people’s paychecks… been responsible for people’s welfare?
I’d wager to bet that Schweitzer’s created more jobs as “Mister Mulch” than any of the establishment candidates, such as Brenner or Saliba.
I can say with full confidence that Schweitzer’s the real deal. Whereas his competitors may be good fiscal conservatives, they don’t bring the other necessary aspect that the Second District asks for, the social conservatism. The two sides balance each other out, and make him the superior candidate.
What’s the final reason that Craig needs to win? When I asked him if being a entrepreneur in the landscaping business gave him experience with dealing with and cutting through the piles of manure that politicians spew on a daily basis, Craig answered, “Well, they call me Mister Mulch, and mulch does smell a lot like manure, so yes.”
On May 4, vote for someone who’ll take a shovel to the Augean stable that is the Ohio House of Representatives, and will fertilize the Ohio economy. Vote for Craig Schweitzer.
