I get the impression that many Republicans do not want to talk about Palin. Are they afraid that she will not run, and they want to avoid disappointment? We need to speak up at this point and let her know that she has support because the media is telling her that we’re cowards. We prove it when we don’t support her.

And that whoever she endorses is the next nominee.

Why don’t you all write blogs about “Why I love/hate Palin”. Then, when these threads come up, you all could just post your respective link. That way these threads would only be about 2 inches long.

You are wrong when you assume that your question begging are punches that land. You questions assume the answer – did she not… X – and assume that an affirmative response admits guilt. It does not. This is the best the media could dig up to assault her and when you step back to get some perspective you realize that any good leader would can make similar decisions. In many cases these are legal traps. You are wrong to assume that these actions you cite are negatives. You are wrong to assume she has something to hide.

“Did she not get a trooper fired?” Damn right. I would too. If I’m the boss I get to decide who to hire and fire. For my own reasons. The trooper was a creep. She had her reasons and the fact that she has to jump through hoops to fire him is the problem. It is procedural legal crap – enough already!!!!!!!! There is no legitimate reason to criticize this action. Think about how the house wants to follow all of these bogus rules instead of doing the right thing.

When she’s president I want her to take a buzz saw to the bureaucratic leviathan. I want to see old ladies canned prior to getting their government pension crying in the streets “she just didn’t like me because I am democrat…” Your Point!!!

Again, so what?? We live in a gothca age where anything can and will be used against you in the court of public opinion and your local bench. Privacy still has a place in our society even for elected officials. Was it wrong to hide emails. Yeah. And if the shoe (left) was on the other foot I’d want to hang a Dem out to dry for it. But the media and liberal machine churns through our men and women like a juggernaut. They want to pin us down.

Of course. She is avoiding the type of crap you point out. Have you noticed that since she’s stepped down she’s not in court every day defending herself? Why is that?? Don’t you get it? They want to take her out and you are aiding and abetting known liberals when you jump on this bandwagon.

I feel the need to define legitimate beef with a candidate: departure from principal for positioning to win approval rather than strategic compromise OR moral failure that does compromise the mission.

As a former advance man for Reagan in the ’75-’76 and ’80 campaigns I see a lot of similarities between the two (optimistic, constirutionalist, etc) and some differences,a major one is Palin is younger and needs some seasoning.

Audax – you are right, you’ve been right. We need some optimism. Real freaking optimism. Not hopey changey crap BUT to God’s honest truth we can do it – get off the mat kinda optimism.. If she could serve in a national role – a cabinate position or something I’d like to get her seasoned up a bit – but right now we need to regain the executive branch. “live free or die” and having it on my veterans license plate. There is nothing confusing about NH and there is nothing confusing or mysterious about winning here. Retail politics is how you win in NH and it takes a lot of time and a lot of work. That is why McCain skipped Iowa in 2008 and gambled on NH.
I like Sarah Palin and I enjoyed reading her book Going Rogue. She mentions all the retail politics she did in AK to win the Governors race, which would certainly help her in NH. What I don’t understand and find confusing is why she has not been here since 2008. She has certainly been to NY enough times and that is a four hour drive, half hour by plane from NH. Our County Committee tried getting her to come speak at our annual Lincoln Reagan Dinner. Palin’s people demanded a hefty speaking fee. Since this was a fundraiser, that was defiantly out of the question. If she was our speaker, only the fire codes would have limited the amount of people who wanted to attend.

Those people who are running for President have already been here and are hiring people and recruiting volunteers. You can’t win in NH or Iowa for that matter with TV ads and photo ops. Sadly I don’t think Sarah Palin is running.

Charlie, I appreciate your reply and willingness to actually read Palin and support her. You may be right. She probably will not run, unless their is enough noise out here. And she could make a retail campaign run between now and the primary.

When we look at the slate of candidates we have and realize that we might as well mail it in during the general until we admit that we need Sarah. We need a galvanizing figure who will go toe to toe with the Liberal Triad (media-academia-government).

My comments on NH were more about the patriot spirit that seems to be sandwiched between Boston and Bangor. NH voters talk like independents but vote like northeastern libs to often. I’m not sure a God-fearing gun toting mama bear is palatable to them , even though Palin would rock the rest of the country.
