To say Hillary Clinton is bitter over her loss to Donald Trump is about as surprising as saying water is wet. It’s not hard to blame her for being bitter. She expected a coronation. Instead, she nearly lost the nomination to a doddering old socialist from Vermont and then lost the general election to a reality television host. Wouldn’t you be bitter?

Hillary spends most of her time blaming outside forces for her loss. She’s pointed the finger at James Comey, Vladimir Putin, fake news websites, Russian hacking, the media (HAHA!!)  and anyone else that fits her narrative of “what happened” as opposed to having a truth moment and realizing she was a horrendous candidate who couldn’t beat an awful candidate.

Now she’s taken it a step further. At a conference in India, Hillary said she lost because of the rubes in the red states and their backward ways and subservient wives. Here are her comments:

“If you look at the map of the United States, there is all that red in the middle, places where Trump won. What that map doesn’t show you is that I won the places that own two thirds of America’s Gross Domestic product. I won the places that are optimistic, diverse, dynamic, moving forward. And his whole campaign, Make America Great Again, was looking backwards. You don’t like black people getting rights, you don’t like women getting jobs, you don’t want to see that Indian American succeeding more than you are, whatever that problem is, I am going to solve it.”

She made it worse when she said the following about white women (52 percent of whom, voted for Trump) saying they were motivated to vote for Trump because of:

“…ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should.”

Naturally, all the men are racist, narrow-minded, backward-looking fools. As for the women, it’s astonishing how easy it is for the left to trash women who don’t agree with them as nothing more than weaklings who cower from their husbands and do what they’re told. Apparently, voting Democrat is the necessary route to take so that a woman gets recognized as one of the “strong, independent” types.

Not surprisingly, her comments faced swift rebuttals — from some Democrats. Claire McCaskill who is facing a tough re-election campaign said, “I don’t think that’s the way you should talk about any voter, especially ones in my state.”

That’s pretty significant pushback. But that doesn’t solve the Democrats’ problem. Believe it or not, we’re only a year out from when Democratic presidential candidates will start testing the waters. We’ll know by the early summer of 2019 which Democrats will be vying for the nomination to defeat Trump. The national party doesn’t have any interest in searching for a Conor Lamb type candidate who can win back the voters who moved to Trump after they twice voted for Barack Obama.

The candidates who are still making waves in the Democratic Party for a presidential run are Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kirsten Gillibrand. That’s not exactly representative of mainstream America. Don’t get me wrong. Donald Trump doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the people who he convinced to vote for him. He lies to them on a daily basis, claiming he’ll bring back jobs that will never come back.

Still, Trump knew how to tap into the sentiment that many working-class voters felt — and that was the idea that the rebuilding economy managed to pass them by and Democrats didn’t seem to care as much as they claimed. Take away Barack Obama and put in his place, Hillary Clinton, a person living a life of total privilege since 1993 and it’s no wonder she couldn’t connect with those voters in the way Obama — and Trump — could do.

In Conor Lamb, the Democrats were able to hand-pick a candidate who could win in a district Trump carried by 20 points. However, Lamb was not selected by voters in a primary. He was selected by Pennslyvania Democratic Party leaders who knew what kind of candidate could win. Will Democratic voters at large wake up to the reality that leftists like Sanders and Warren have no chance?

It’s doubtful. Time will tell.
