in Juneau. I’ve lived in this place for twenty years and this year is the first time I’ve ever seen fresh snow on the mountains around the glacier in July. There was fresh snow up there on at least three ocassions this July and we did not have even one day over 70 degrees. We average ten or more best I recall and a few days even into the 80s isn’t uncommon.

Saw him at Squire’s Rest, the watering hole near my marina, a few weeks ago. We spent a couple of hours trying to talk this rich surgeon we know out of voting for The One; the same surgeon who shot Bill when they were hunting in Africa a year or so ago.

He sold his JNU restaurants and is now living pretty leisurely. Guess I do too since I hang with him sometimes.

Good luck with the surgeon. I guess the doctor see “the one” with free health care as better for the medical business huh?

I would say the Doc owes Bill his vote for McCain after shooting him but he was trying to save Bill from being eaten. Hehehe…

I have not talked to Bill in some time but we e-mail back and forth. I was told by Tim H. recently Bill had sold his businesses.

Some of us have talked about another bear hunting trip and I have been meaning to call Bill. I assume his leg will never be the same and guiding is no longer something he does???

against Obama that sewed it up for one of my dad’s doctors–he refuses to vote for a ticket that boasts two lawyers. He’s a Dem for life and has never voted R before until this year. He also thinks Michelle Obama wears the pants in that family and he doesn’t like that either.

He was talking about a moose hunting trip up in the interior last time I saw him.

One of my marina neighbors guides a lot of bear hunting parties here in Southeast. He has a 45′ or so trawler and takes parties of up to six for sometimes up to ten days or so.

Yeah, I think the surgeon is a hopeless case; all he sees is more patients with good health insurance. Asking him how long it would be before the government screwed it up to a fare thee well had no effect.
