If her reason for leaving office is to protect her family from the vicious attacks from the media, I respect that decision. I just don't see any near-term possibility of her being elected to public office. I hope that she will continue to help the conservative movement by speaking and raising money for candidates, and I hope that her family can finally find the peace they once knew before the media got ahold of them.

between Palin resigning and Kathleen Sebelius, Ken Salazar, Janet Napolitano, and John Huntsman. They left their position to take another post. Palin has decided to leave her governorship without another role. I have heard a few people make this argument today, and it just doesn't work (IMO). If you were offered a promotion at work and took it, would you be quitting your old position? But, if you just quit your job without another position lined up, you just plain quit. Sorry, but that is how I see it. Sarah Palin quit.
