The Following Republicans Should be Put on Notice……..

Tax cheat Tim Geithner has been confirmed by the Senate as our next Treasury Secretary.  I know that there have been a million articles on how someone who evaded taxes and had an illegal immigrant working for him should not be in charge of the IRS, but if this is “Hope and Change” then I want out.

Eight Republicans voted in favor of Geithner.  You can see how the final tally ended up here.  Four Democrats voted against Geithner as well.  I’m shocked that the likes of Robert KKK Byrd, Russ Feingold, Tom Harkin and admitted socialist Bernie Sanders voted against Geithner.  In terms of the eight Republicans, we shouldn’t be surprised by some of them, but others were quite shocking.

Bob Corker, John Cornyn, Tom Crapo, John Ensign, Lindsey Graham, Judd Gregg, Richard Shelby, and Olympia Snowe all decided to side with Barack Obama in putting this crook in charge of our tax policy.  RINO’s like Graham, Snowe, and Gregg aren’t surprising, but Corker, Cornyn, Crapo, Ensign, and Shelby shocked me.  Why would these people, who like to identify themselves as conservatives so they can take our money when they want to keep their jobs do this to us?  How could these Republicans not have the stones that a socialist like Bernie Sanders would have to oppose him?  I’m also very disappointed that Joseph Lieberman has decided to extend an olive branch back to the party that kicked him to the curb and give this crook a government job.

These eight are officially crossed off of any list for political donations.  Period.  I understand that some of them just won re-election, but should they want my money to keep their jobs, then they can look elsewhere.  I will no longer tolerate being fooled by trojan horse RINO’s who have decided to fall victim to the false hope of Barack Obama.

The final thing I will say about this is that history has repeated itself.  What kept the Democrats in control of Congress for so many years beginning with FDR’s reign of ecnomic terror New Deal, there were too many Republicans who decided that they would throw the pillars of the party down the tubes in order to get re-elected and to get a piece of the FDR pie.  I’m afraid we are starting to see this with the Republican party of the present.  Not only should these eight not count on any money from me, but I’m afraid these eight are more than willing to give Obama a rubber stamp all in the name of being re-elected.  To hell what’s better for the country; as long as they keep their jobs and power, it doesn’t matter.

Nickname for Cornyn is now “Obamas – CORNMAN”

The point cannot be made often enough: Modern liberalism, as embodied in the Obama presidency, is the defender of the status quo. And the status quo is a road to economic ruin. Political forces cannot redistribute the wealth that the economic system does not produce.

What are you going to do about it?

“Taking them off the donation list” is fine, but they’ll never know it unless you are already a known contributor. What else are you going to do? Letters? Calls to their offices? What overt action will you take to get their attention?

Blogs are fine, but a lot of this stuff never meets their eyeballs. Calls to their offices are heard, as are real, paper letters. Do something that has impact.

Um, actually, I believe there were 10.

…..but I guess it just goes to show I expected them to be yet another “me too” Republican.

Shelby was a shocker; so was Harkin.

jonreagan (Diary) Tuesday, January 27th at 2:33AM EST (link)

Shelby goes on CNBC whenever he gets a chance (especially if either Erin Burnette or Maria Bartiromo are doing the interview)….he led the charge in opposing TARP as well as the auto bailout. And in an interview last Thursday, I got the impression he was going to oppose Geithner. Very disappointing.

There may be a lesson here in Harkin’s opposition….fault lines do exist in the Democratic caucus, and the long knives seem to coming out. Harkin was livid that team Obama picked an Agriculture Secretary without consulting him—made worse by the fact that the choice, Tom Vilsack, is a former governor of Iowa. Overall, pretty humiliating. Things like this make you realize that the One’s honeymoon may already be ending.

The real test will be the vote on the so-called Stimulus. After Biden’s ridiculous promise that there would be NO earmarks in the final bill, they’ve given our Senators all the reason they need to oppose the bill–a reason which the voting public will both understand, and applaud.

Speaking of Hatch

After the phone call I just made to him I’ll be hearing from his new pal who heads up the IRS.

The Republicans in government are now so afraid of being accused of not being team players (and being partisan) that they will go along with anything.

Funny thing is that they are being set up as patsies and as smart as they want everyone to think they are, they can’t see it.

TheOne wants them on board. Not because he wants a more civilized and bipartisan environment but because the Republicans can shoulder the blame when everything goes to … crap.
