For not having anything to do with the Blagojevich scandal, Barack Obama’s team is sure getting testy.

Evidently “Rahmbo” was absent from the all important President-Elect’s news conference this morning to attend a concert involving his two children at Chicago’s City Hall, where he was approached by reporters, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

A Sun-Times reporter pressed him to comment about whether he was the emissary named in the criminal complaint.

“You’re wasting your time,” Emanuel said. “I’m not going to say a word to you. I’m going to do this with my children. Dont do that. I’m a father. I have two kids. I’m not going to do it.”

Asked, “Can’t you do both?” Emanuel replied, “I’m not as capable as you. I’m going to be a father. I’m allowed to be a father,” and he pushed the reporter’s digital recorder away.

Now look, I’ll go on record as saying I wouldn’t be too happy myself if a reporter came to a function where my kids were at, but Rahm has some anger issues if he’s going to be pushing reporters away and hiding behind his children when pressed about the biggest scandal in Illinois politics since, well, it may as well been last week.

The Sun Times also has another interesting little tidbit in the artice:

Blagojevch was caught on tape saying that he wanted the Obama advisor in question to know what Blagojevich wanted in exchange for the Jarrett appointment.

Blagojevich said, “He asks me for the fifth CD thing, I want it to be in his head.” Emanuel represents the 5th Congressional District in Illinois.

Was Emanuel involved?  If he was, to what extent was Barack Obama involved?  I’m not going to start calling for Obama to resign from the presidency before all the facts are released (unlike with what we’ve seen for the past eight years from liberals), but this is starting to get interesting.  With all the talk about the Republicans being the party of corruption for the past two years, the Democrats aren’t doing so hot.  Blagojevich, Elliot Spitzer, William Jefferson, Tim Mahoney, Chris Dodd, and Charlie Rangel are all names that have been in the press so far. 

They’re not off to a good start of changing Washington.  I, for one, am looking forward to see what else Patrick Fitzgerald brings us.
