You know, every once in a while these people redeem themselves. Juuuuust a little bit.
Ordering Pizza in 2010
I don’t know about you guys, but I got tense just listening to this. It might sound ridiculous, but after everything that’s been revealed since January, I can see this happening in America. With the amount of rhetoric that’s spun every day by Obama and his goons, it would probably be pretty easy:
In order to fully serve the citizens of this great nation, all service operations will be plugged in to a cross-country grid.
In order to ensure efficiency within the grid, all citizens will be assigned a national ID number. This is mandatory.
In order to fully repair (read: regulate) our struggling economy, all bank card purchases will be tracked.
In order to completely revamp our national health care system, we will require your measurements, a detailed list of your eating habits, and full access to your medical records.
…
In order to ensure compliance, anyone refusing a national ID number/participation in the services offered within the grid will be subject to property confiscation and reeducation.
Crazy? Of course. Impossible? I think not.

Steph C (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 2:24PM EST (link)we’re labeled crazies or paranoid or something. It doesn’t necessarily have to happen in 2010 or even under Obama. The real problem is that the groundwork is being laid, just as legislation or court rulings have laid the foundations of past indignities.
Roe v Wade, for instance went from ruling that abortions are legal to it’s not only legal to kill innocent souls but government will fund such killings.

I consider it a compliment, at any rate.
You’re absolutely right. By the time things like this are actually happening, it will be too late. This is why we have to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT every time another piece of their sick puzzle falls into place.

Good find, Amy!
azaeroprof (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 2:45PM EST (link)I hate to send traffic to the (profanity alert!) ACLU, but this needs to go viral. It’s only a slight stretch to get from Obama’s health care plan to this. And make sure noone shows this to Nancy Pelosi. We don’t want her getting any ideas!
You know they made this in regards to Bush, right?
leftylurker (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 3:25PM EST (link)It’s scary any way you slice it (omg unintentional), but this was in response to the warrant less wiretapping programs.
Fwiw, I don’t care who does this kind of stuff. I oppose them.
Yes, leftylurker
Amy Miller (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 3:28PM EST (link)It was in re. to the REAL ID act (which, FTR, I HATED.) It just seems so timely.
I don’t care who supports things like this…I’ll oppose it, just like you. (Common ground? Eh?!)
Seemed timely, at any rate.

leftylurker (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 3:30PM EST (link)Yeah, I’m not sure how you could be conservative and support REAL ID.
Ah, lefty...
Amy Miller (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 3:33PM EST (link)I’m not sure how you could be a person with higher brain function and support the REAL ID…..or, in fact, the majority of what this Administration wants to put into action. It’s too much control.

seandparnell (Diary) Monday, August 10th at 3:52PM EST (link)Probably not popular to say here, but the ACLU does do a lot of good work, at least on my issue of campaign finance regulation. You don’t have to agree with them all the time or even very often to recognize and commend them for a generally principled stand on what they believe is right.

Good catch, but ...
get2djnow (Diary) Tuesday, August 11th at 9:35AM EST (link)so what.
Here’s the ACLU doing what they do best: standing up for most disgusting people in our society.
A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson (26 Mar 1984 – 28 Sep 2005) Killed by an IED during OEF, probably of Iranian origin, but aided by having predictably scheduled logistics convoys.
“And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you.” (Genesis 17:7)
“Lift up your eyes and look from the place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward, for all the land which you see I will give to you and to your descendants forever.” (Genesis 13:14)
“For those who are with us here today before Hashem our God and (also) those who are not here with us today.” (Deuteronomy 29:14)
Not meant to offend,
get2djnow (Diary) Tuesday, August 11th at 9:36AM EST (link)I just despise the ACLU. I really think it was a great find.

completely understandable

Seriously though, this scenario is playing out. Keep in mind the foundation for a national database of your health records was already in the stimulus bill ( or was it one of the TARP bills).
See? It’s already getting hard to keep up with this stuff. Stay vigilant!

ACLU doing good things?
RoguePolitics (Diary) Thursday, August 13th at 10:20AM EST (link)Sure, but I did see this commercial or one like it by them as a reference to Bush. It was good then too. It was an anti-Bush obviously.
Just remember when you see the ACLU doing something right it has an ultimate purpose you won’t like.
For example:
My brother used the ACLU to sue the PA State police over a traffic stop. PA SP screwed up and it cost them. My brother won, three bad cops got slapped down the world is great. Right?
George KARNES, Appellant, v. Thomas SKRUTSKI.
Sounds like justice was done. ACLU took the case on a contigency.
Here is the problem. My brother won a pittance, and that was OK with him, it was the principle of the thing right?
ACLU on the other hand won legal fees, etc which amounted to all of their costs and attorneys fees. Their attorneys are volunteers. A lot of money.
I think $140,000 or so.
Now how many child molestors and NAMBLA members do you suppose they were able to defend with that money? Of course to fund the idiotic stuff they do they have to mix in a little of the normal. But the only purpose of the normal is just to pay for the idiotic.
As I told my brother at the time; you make a deal with the devil he always wins.
