but we never really asked what kind of business that the Dems like a lot. Personally, they love to kill business first and more than some Republicans. Lets face it folks,if it doesn’t seem to give enough money to their party or the Treasury, they’ll tax it out of existence. We really need Pro-growth conservatism but it needs to remember the mistakes from the last time a quasi- pro growth conservatism was around.

It's doubtful you'll be able to earn said trust in this community. Did you know that President Bush tried to reign-in Freddie and Fannie throughout his administration, and his warnings went unheeded seventeen times in 2008 alone? Or, that the GSE ticking time-bomb was forecasted during the Clinton Administration?

That’s largely a function of the massive power of the government since the New Deal got started up. If you want to stop it, you could always, I don’t know, support smaller government in the rare instances where you can?

All you did here was excoriate a respected poster, ignore her points about Dem participation, and go off on a non-sequiter concerning the XM and Sirius merger (which I also disagreed with, btw). Deregulation had very little to do with this problem, and in fact, the banks which took advantage of deregulation generally fared better than those which didn’t. While we’re at it, Dems have been in control for at least 3 years now — while this doesn’t take Repubs off the hook for their many mistakes, it does mean that you shouldn’t be looking to Reps to solve your problems.

Yes, agreed. This country is very right of center, but Republican leadership whores itself to the business community, whereas Democrats whore themselves to Labor. Let’s just be honest about it. And trust me, the New Jersey and Virginia election results said less about the Republican message and more about the rejection of Obama’s Big Government policies. Thank you.
