as the Tigers did make the World Series in 06 (losing to the St. Louis Cardinals), but that marked the end of 1989 - 2005 drought in which the Tigers never even made it to September in contention. And at least the Tigers have won two World Series in my lifetime (born 1964).

An even more pitiful measure of the Lions than their 0 - 16 record is the fact that, in my lifetime, the Lions have won a grand total of one, ONE playoff win (a 31-7 win over Dallas in 1991.)

are pulling for and not without reason for which you have provided. When I chat with people as to who they "think" will be the pick they say Blackwell and there is no doubt he is one of my top three well actually the bottom three are not even within my range so to me there are only three!

If you are going to use a snarky team to make your point, try the 0-16 Detroit LIONS football team, not the highly successful Detroit Tigers Baseball team.

otherwise, well written........

I especially liked this:

The GOP base needs to be engaged and brought into the fight. They need to be told that the GOP shares their values and is more than a bunch of power-grubbing White Males in their 50s and 60s working out their own personal issues with a grasping quest for power.

We need to prove to the base that the GOP is worth their time, their money, and their energy. If we fail to, all the rest is irrelevant. While the party needs to reach out, it must have an energized base. Because swing voters won’t get a party and its members to the polls.

I had a hard time in sales before I got into real estate because I couldn't bring myself to gloss over problems while sugar coating everything and for the life of me I can't open my mouth for the party anymore and tell people that Republicans stand for fiscal restraint, smaller government, a strong national defense and strong moral character. First off because it's next to impossible to keep a straight face when doing so...but mainly because I can't bring myself to tell someone something I don't believe myself....We badly need to rebuild credibility with the base because I don't believe any more!

One other thing Blackwell is stressing that fires me up about him and that's about holding candidates accountable to the platform...That's a breath of fresh air to me since it's the only input I have into this process and we've allowed Republicans in leadership to piss all over the platform for far too long!
