NAA(L)CP Suit to Extend Voting Hours in VA

Count 'em til you get 'em right.

Absent power failures or natural disasters, there is only one reason to extend voting hours: committing fraud. Real, living, sane, responsible people will get to the polls and at least be in line at the close; if you’re in line, you vote in most places. The reason they want extended hours, especially extended hours granted by a sympathetic judge late in the day, is so they can shake out their lists of people who are “registered” but who haven’t voted, load up the vans, and have them go vote. So long as their isn’t a picture ID requirement, and even if there is in safely D precincts, anybody can show up and vote as whatver name hasn’t voted yet. It’s Voter Fraud 101.

Obama won't win VA...

UnderCoverGuy (Diary) Monday, November 3rd at 4:58PM EST (link)

They can try to steal the election in VA, but he won’t be able to do it. Obama is going to lose whether the polls are open 24×7 or close at 19:00.

People have had much problem making it to the polls in past elections – and it’s just another example of trying to extend services to people who won’t get off their a$$ when they’re supposed to.

I agree

If you want to vote, don’t drag your a**. Virginia, along with a lot of unexpected states will go to McCain.

We need to demand an end to early and absentee voting

for everyone who isn’t in the military or isn’t physically challenged. Then, we need to demand that every voter be required to dip their right index finger in purple ink just like they do in Iraq. Voter fraud is treasonous behavior and those convicted of it need to be locked up and forgotten. We’ve got to get a handle on this if we don’t want to end up being a four season banana republic with our own glorious leader.

Nothing wrong with early voting...

if you have to show a valid picture ID to vote. I can’t vouch for every Florida county, but mine does it right. All Florida D/Ls or ID cards have an encoded magnetic strip. You have to “swipe” your card to get your ballot. You also have to look something like the person whose name appears on your ID card. Nobody else can get a ballot in your name. We have pretty good controls on absentee ballots as well.

Florida voter fraud is mostly committed by “double dippers”. We have a good many “seasonal” residents from Northern states. We don’t do a very good job of making sure that our voters did not also vote in a northern state.

Early voting could go nationwide, experts say

guess again, there is a push to mandateearly voting all states. but yes I agree with you. END EARLY VOTING.

It takes away the importance and significance of voting on a given Election day and causes the people to vote at their conveinience or out of a whim. Not democratic if you ask me.

I am honestly torn..

on early voting. I would like to see some credible numbers, but my gut tells me that early voting is a net positive for the GOP. The unemployed have nothing to do and all day to do it. On Tuesdays, they can go vote when working people are busy putting food on the table. Elderly folks, that have already learned that liberal policies suck, have a hard time standing in line for four hours to vote. What about some biometric data requirement instead?

Partisanship shouldn't be a deciding factor

the decision should be made according to what works. Oregon uses a 100% vote by mail system and its worked very well, actually. We’ve had none of the problems you’ve seen recently in Ohio, Washington, and Florida,

I'm against early voting because of candidates like Obama.

Since the media WILL NOT gives us all the news as it happens or is discovered, many early voters are left with buyer’s remorse when it finally does leak out. Take the bankrupting coal comment The One made that was just released; if that information had been released 2 weeks ago it would have destroyed his chances of winning Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia. By the time it was released, thousands and thousands of votes had been cast for Obama that would have gone to McCain if the citizenry had been informed.

This is not going to go away. The media whores will do anything to protect these stalinist libs. The best and only way to make sure the citizenry is as informed as possible is to KILL early voting.

But at the same time

the comment could have been made Nov 5th.

You have to vote at some point and there is always the chance that after you do you find out something new. The only difference between voting one day or voting a couple weeks earlier is when you start the process of vetting.
